One on one drill. Sam Darnold to DJ with Jackson in coverage.

This looks really simple and almost not worth noticing. But thats the point.

Look how that ball is placed. Look how fluid DJ goes from catch to YAC.  Perfectly in stride.

Maybe it is just me, but I find this poo gorgeous.

It's not just you.

It is.  Gorgeous that is.

Receivers sometimes have a preference for where they want the ball thrown to them. Some guys like it high (Muhammad did, for obvious reasons) others prefer out in front, some right in the numbers, etc.

I wonder if any of our current guys have preferences like that, or if they've discussed them with Darnold.

I was at the Bier Garden in Asheville NC when he got that and simply walked away from the defender.  Holy hell that place went absolutely bat poo crazy.  Good times, good times.

The Philly game next when Foster drug the defense into the endzone for a score was equally insane

I was in 'high school' (College over here, but y'know semantics) at the time.

When we hit X-Clown in double overtime I woke up everyone in the house - it was like 4am at that point. 🤣

My aspirations aren't huge.  If Sam can become Jake 2.0, I will bless the football goods and sacrifice (grill) a Boston butt in their honor.

That sounds like some scared aspirations. Jake Delhomme 2.0 (and Cam 2.0 for that matter) isn't good enough for me.  I prefer to let the past be the past.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
