3rd stringers don't win games. Our 2nd unit has competed (and honestly outplayed) both the Colts and Ravens 2nd unit.

Iron sharpens iron.

I'm happy with the 53 man roster, for the most part. We're carrying about 30 pieces of deadwood right now though.

The third string is meant to push the second string and the second string is meant to push the first string. Right now the first string is untroubled by those behind them. That's not how you build a consistently successful team - but we're working on it.

Says a lot more about Rhule’s weaknesses, then. I said earlier PJ’s biggest strength is Temple. That’s all he has.

PJ Walker has actually won a NFL game.  So there’s that too.

But as a said, more importantly, which QB would serve your team better as your D preps for Kyler Murray, Josh Allen,  Hurts, Hill, etc that we have on the schedule?   That’s how I look at it.  Who can help the team.   That’s  how one of those two could actually help

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
