Honestly,  Am I the only one reacting to Rhule coughing multiple times in yesterday's presser?

What are the rules for covid-19 testing in the league?

8.10, 8.18, 9.25, 10.18 and 11.55 for example.

Surprised no "journalists"  brought it up. Even a negative test could be newsworthy.

I definitely noticed it and did wonder if someone would bring it up in the interview when I watched it, but I'm not sure that's an appropriate question for a journalist to ask, to be quite honest.

as for league protocols, the rules differ for vaccinated personnel vs unvaccinated personnel, and Rhule is vaccinated. Rhule would have to be a confirmed close contact of someone who tested positive, or be showing symptoms himself to even require a test right now. a few coughs do not constitute symptoms, as far as I know.

obviously coughing these days raises eyebrows immediately to many, but keep in mind it's allergy season and even aside from that, there's a ton of reasons why someone would be coughing like that. they weren't chest coughs, to my ears. I get that it's something that catches everyone's ears right now though.

even considering all that, Rhule has at no point struck me as someone who would try to conceal something like that.

I thought that was part of the job desciption of a journalist, to find out things.

This is why I posted. Because I dont know the rules and there could be a legitime reason for his reaction to not be a concern. But if no one ask, like som fluff journalist dont, only raises questions. In my mind atleast.

Looking at how some other responded to me (not directed to vorbis). I guess Covid-19 is not longer a concern in the US.............

Ok went and watched he whole thing.  Yeah - I agree the cough is a bit concerning.  It wasn't something water fixed for him.  But with that said - I expect / hope we are just being overly sensitive about something 18 months ago we literally would have thought nothing of.

Sometimes a Cold is just a Cold.

    • It's actually thoughtful and thorough. Stands out from the standard youtube patterns of speech and speaking without saying anything
    • Yeah. And there is something in the effort put forth to achieve the numbers that the numbers don’t quantify. Such as does Bryce have to throw with all his effort to get what CJ or whoever can get being more under control at less than 100%? I have watched a few of his games the last month or so, if his ball is good enough to win ion the NFL it is at the win threshold border line.  Eyeball between Bryce CJ and Richardson, you guys are acting like your eyes would lie to you.
    • The eyeball test is subjective. You can say he has a weak arm, I can say his arm is strong (which I'm not). Who has the better "eye" for football velocity? Bryce doesn't always throw fastballs. Actually he rarely does. But he's thrown enough to show that he has more than adequate velocity. Decision making, trust in his oline, trust in his receivers... needs work. But arm strength is low on the things he needs to improve. Right along with footwork. If that's how he plays, then I'm fine with it. He's shown the ability to throw with adequate velocity and accuracy at very awkard arm angles. So he doesn't need to have stellar footwork to make throws. I could see it helping his timing though.
