I mean, I get the Panthers aren't on the same level as like the Patriots, Steelers, Packers, etc. But saying we're on the same level as the Jets shows how delusional Jets fans are about their own level of pathetic....

The Jets are one of the worst franchises in the NFL over the last 50 years. Since 1970, the Jets have a paltry record of 341-449-2, and only 12 playoff appearances. Since 1970. 12 in 50 years. They make the playoffs an average of under 1 out of every 4 seasons.

The Panthers are average. Since 1995, the Panthers have a record of 200-215-1, and 8 playoff appearances. The thing that really sets the Panthers apart are two Superbowl appearances in the last 18 years. The Jets cannot say the same.

So let's just put that ridiculously wrong comment from an idiotic Jets fan to bed, forever.

From a Jets fan I'll level with you guys.   

We don't know what we got.  With a new HC, OC, DC, rookie QB, and massive roster turnover we cant really predict what we will look like.  Saleh is a good coach with a good rep so we are hoping that shines through.  

We know we have holes at LB, DB, and to a lesser extent OL, TE, and RB is underwhelming so far. 

What we do have is a great push in the middle of the DL, a deep and talented WR pool, and Wilson looked very solid in preseason.  There is a chance our passing game will have big success, but maybe its too early in the season for Wilson to breakthrough. 

At the least we want to look different from last season.  Adam Gase was a low point in a decade of low points and we need to put as much distance from that as possible.  A lot of us would be okay losing as long as we look competitive, keep it close, and scoring TDs doesn't require a miracle.  

That said, were encouraged, even excited, to face Darnold.   It is our big hope for winning this game.   Now don't misunderstand me.  Darnold could develop into a solid starter under the right conditions.  But you dont have those conditions.  He spent 3 years behind a terrible line and what he needed was to go to a team that had an above average line to actually allow him to develop.   Again, you don't have that and we don't believe Darnold can develop behind a sub par line.    Gase turned him into a head case.  What Sam needs is to stop overthinking and get back to playing loose, playing street ball. 

IMO this game will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.  That will probably be you, but like I said, we don't know what we got yet. 

Good luck this game and the rest of the season.  It should be said that after this game most of us will be rooting for Sam because he is a good guy and we know he had a damaging stint under Gase.   We hope he becomes your Ryan Tannahil.   Just not t his week.

My bad. Just getting a little anxious waiting for the first game, needed something worthwhile to read. I thought about waiting too for more content. I’ll refrain from making these in future and be patient!

By Harris, I can only assume they meant Reddick…I mean it’s kind of close…with the i and r and all.

      You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.

      Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.

      On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
