Panthers are 3.5 point home underdogs to Saints.

I'm sticking with my prediction from the season prediction thread:

Week 2 vs New Orleans Saints - Win (2-0). I predict Winston has a huge game Week 1 and throws 4 TDs with no INTs. Which means, it's quite possible he does the opposite against us the next week. I just think he will be riding high and so he starts the game slinging it. Bottling Kamara will be a problem.

W 24-20

Yet the collective "opinion" of the "market" has an amazing ability to accurately signal the outcome.

Correlation is not causation. And I wouldn't call it amazing, so much as proof of the efficacy of statistical analysis when provided with ever increasing reams of data about a limited subset. Regardless, I don't much get emotionally involved with sports betting prognostications.

YMMV.

Seems fair. We barely beat the Jets AT HOME, Saints destroyed the Packers (on the road I think, but it wasn't at GB either right?). Either way, we don't deserve to be favored in this game. The Packers looked horrible yesterday, but the Saints took advantage of that. Our game should have been a blowout, but it wasn't. We didn't take advantage of our opportunities. A team who's red zone scoring is 25% will most likely never be favored.

Our score was closer than the game. Solve the RZ woes and it’ll be fine. Didn’t even have to be TDs…just points at all. One more TD and a FG makes the score 29-14. Not particularly close. That would be TDs on 50% of the RZ trips which still isn’t great.

I also like our chances of getting Jameis rattled early with him coming off a big win. I’m gonna say 17-3 at halftime. CAR holds on to win 26-24 with a sack/TO on downs as JW is trying to drive to win.

I told my older brother to take NO with the spread.. he’s more of a betting fan than a football fan….

personally, I would never bet against my team but I told my brother to… as with any sibling rivalry, I hope I misguided him…. Or let them cover the spread & we still win on a last second ff by teh new guy….

Feels like one of those where you put $20 on the Saints then end up winning way(unless we lose by 1-3 points).

There’s no way that less than 80% of the public money is on the Saints with that line and their performance Sunday. Also, gives me hope as one of those “if it looks like free money then Vegas knows something you don’t” lines

We lose this game but beat them later.  Our entire team is growing up

Beat them later?

*looks at Panthers schedule* 🧐

By then (Week 17), it won't matter.

Plus, it will be on the road instead of at home.

I think the time to beat them is NOW with many of their players missing.

    • He is a really good WR and they have a rookie QB so they can afford it. Look at what they have been wasting on Cousins for years? That's where this cap came from lol. Now the guaranteed money is high but Minny had to keep him while taking a shot on a rookie QB.
    • Johnson is very smart IMO. He will get paid either way but avoiding a terrible spot can save your career too. He looks to be working the system and good for him. I always thought hiring interviews go both ways and have been disappointed watching people not realize this. He handled DC roughly but it was also funny because he did see them as what they are which is a new ownership group, even with Petters, he would be likely be destined for failure there while they figure out the normal learning curve of the NFL.  It's not lying it's just 'your great but I can't say what your not because that is taboo'. Sometimes lies are expected if the truth isn't what they want.  I agree generally. Ron was doing great work as a DC where he put in 6 years as DC at 2 teams vs Canales 1 year as OC before becoming a HC. Ron is such a known quantity by now, he earned his 2nd shot as a HC and it went as expected given his proclivities. Offense is just safer in this NFL vs Defense so any one that can score will get a look. Ryans is a beast but how do you think he fairs without Slowick? Which HCs were in the SB? Offensive guys. It's a thing and makes laughing about TB, Atlanta and NO all having beatable defensive coaches the Panthers still can't beat LOL. It's a dump. If your building a career the Panthers are a long shot. If you are taking a shot, getting paid and/or ready to grow from this failure then this is a great option. I think the jobs are extremely valuable on many levels but there is always a turd in the punchbowl with Tepper. Hurney, Rhule, Friterer, now Caldwell and maybe Morgan. Tepper always leaves some dookie around to contaminate the next batch...they literally help him fug up the next time. It's Tepper's MO, spend lots of money and lean on past failures into new failures. There has not been a truly fresh start under Tepper yet which explains why he keeps failing.
    • yeah lol never say it can't get any worse with David Tepper in charge
