Jeremy Chinn

This is not a stubborn staff, I think they'll quickly adjust and switch him to SS.

Chinn was DROY (miss me with the Young nonsense) when he was playing as a Striker (that's what it's called in the Hurricanes system - a LB / S hybrid). I don't think covering WRs 30 yards downfield is the best use of his talents.

I didn't understand the situation of making Burris the SS and Chin the FS. Burris is the cover guy I believe he came into the league initially as a cornerback then switched to safety. Chinn is a prototypical in the box safety ala Troy Polamalu and Kam Chancellor mode.

The situation is rhule is allergic to easy decisions. Guy goes from OLB to FS lol. Common sense not so common anymore

Bumping this thread.

Is anyone else bothered by the way we're still using Chinn?   think he's doing a nice job at FS but seems like they're really leaving a lot of playmaking opportunities out there in the secondary.   We went from having a top playmaker at linebacker to a free safety who doesn't see a lot of chances to make an impact.

We knew this was coming. Chinn doing his job at safety allows the line to finish the job.  We all knew his production (tackles and sacks) was going to take a hit when we moved him back there.  This is a perfect example where doing your job doesn't show on a stat sheet.    Its good we don't have to blitz the safety to get the QB.

I was hoping Chinn might have more pass breakups and ints, but apparently QB's can't throw while eating dirt.

Chinn has still been involved in a lot of blitz looks, just hasn't been showing up in the stat sheet so far. I'm not too worried about his usage. He's been playing great in the role he's asked to play and the D as a whole is playing lights out from top to bottom.

We are giving up 10 points and less than 200 yards a game. I’ll question the D staff when that’s not happening.

Exactly this! Chinn is part of the #1 ranked defense in the entire nfl. Everyone on that field is doing their part and contributing to that success. Sometimes it's Riddick or Fox or Shaq or Burns or Brown or Donte or Chinn. I am glad that our defensive line is playing so well and we are scheming so well that our safeties aren't making a ton of tackles. Nobody should have a complaint on this defense right now and I bet you Chinn isn't complaining.

    • Without looking it up because I'm lazy, so maybe I'm wrong... if I remember it was talking to both Brady and Sean Payton who were under contracts at the time, multiple times and possibly in multiple off-seasons (less certain on that last part if I'm being honest). Huge difference between that and improper communication during an active free agent time period and with a free agent.   Again, not looking it up, but think all this was, was the Falcons doctors (and others) talking to Kirk during that 2 day period, which isn't allowed. I hate the Falcons as much as the next guy, but let's also still look at things objectively and know that those two things are far from equal.
    • It goes great with a side of calcium carbonate.
    • Wasn't talking about Medicare exactly.  Medicare advantage is different.  The one my mom uses is thru blue cross and blue shield.   Medicare Advantage (Part C) | Blue Cross Blue Shield (bcbs.com) My mom has been using it for about six months now.  Before she was using a medigap program run by United Health Care and it paid almost everything, but was costing her 400 a month.  The Medicare advantage plan doesn't cost anything (the premiums are actually paid by Medicare).  Now she does have copayments, some of them for for medicine, but so far, they aren't bad.  Hers also covers dental, which medicare normally doesn't cover.   I will state though that my Mom has Medicare part b (she pays for it, but gets reimbursed by the employer my stepdad retired from).
