Pretty sure they measure how much time he had to throw. Apparently it's the worst in the league. Credit to Sam for working with it.

Cue the Saint's D watching game film and completely failing to miss OL ineptitude being saved by a bajillion dump off passes to CMC.

Cue the Saint's D cordinator coming up with a game plan that amounts to: smother CMC in close, rush 4 to get to Darnold, dare everybody else to beat us before we pound Darnold's face into the ground.

Sam only has so long to work with it before opposing game plans adjust.

How does this correlate to the game? I dont remember Sam running for his life.

Only one shot down the field was lucky to be able to do, Darnold taking shots as he’s throwing while commendable, is asinine to expect of him 10x a game, and it really will hinder his growth (again), running cmc into the ground, 20% vs. the Jets probably means 10-15% for good teams, you will never, ever win games against competent teams with that let alone ever make the playoffs according, well to like to the entire history of the NFL.

It’s really becoming pathetic of this franchise.

    • How many elite QBs do we have right now in the league? And how elite are they, really? Mahomes - I seriously doubt anyone would say otherwise. My only counterpoint is that since Tyreek left, he has not been as explosive. Only one with a ring. Allen - Yes. His first year was rough, however, and even now, he's a turnover machine which has cost his team games. Wouldn't surprise me if he regresses as talent around him goes elsewhere. Burrow - Can say he got to a Super Bowl but injuries may be a concern. All those sacks he took may be coming back to bite the Bengals. Jackson/Prescott - Can't win in the playoffs even with rosters around them, so no. So there you go. At least in my eyes, there's only maybe 3 right now. And over the past 10 years, QBs not Mahomes/Brady that have won were (noodle arm) Manning, Nick Foles and Matthew Stafford. Even Stafford I'd argue was a one-shot because the Rams absolutely went all-in with talent.
    • Without Guentzel, the team has a better chance of being able to keep Jarvy long term, Noesen for another 2-3 years, Drury and Turbo maybe. And I'm saying that because I think Jarvis will make us forget about Guentzel.
