in the end, a max of 8 guys can actually get in but they don't always put in 8.  Think it was 5 last year.    I don't think 89 is going to be a first ballot guy.  122 guys also competing.

I think 89 will go in year 2.  I personally think Hester is technically the most deserving for being a first ballot guy.  He is the GOAT at return.   But that is one step up from being the GOAT at K.

Anybody know when Luke is eligible to go in?

I think 25.  But it could be 24.  Luke might have to wait a couple of years just because he only played 8 years.  It took Terrell Davis how many years to get in and he won 2 super bowls, an MVP and rushed to 2000 yards in 1 season.  But he only played 6 years.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
