The real underrated part of this trade is that we get him this year and 3 more as part of his rookie contract. He's a legit number 1 lockout corner. Its a position we are deep in whenever Horn returns, but at that price you can't say no. If he performs extremely well this season, then we don't have to overpay Jackson amd can use that money on SS or o-line. Either way for a 3rd round pick and Arnold this is a steal.

AND a 5th year option on him!

I get it and if it works out then great.  You guys are making Henderson out to be Revis or something.  Dude is HARDLY a known/certain commodity.  If so we would be giving up a lot more than a 3rd.  This a calculated risk for sure.  Henderson, while a first round pick, has not looked worthy of the #9 overall selection.

Everyone is getting caught up on his draft status and not what he's done since his draft day.

Take his draft status out of it and this is what everyone is so jacked up over:

A third round pick is no guarantee to be better and absolutely won't be as talented, it's a good risk for a coaching staff that's shown the ability to coach up defense

I'm no Thomas fan, but he has caught his last few throws for 1st downs and he has been blocking much better.  In fact, his blocked set up Tremble's run.

Im by no means saying we need to get someone to start over thomas, im saying 1. I hate Thomas and 2. We need depth behind Tremble and Thomas

lol i just tried to use as few words as possible. and trust i do know that thomas has improved. Idk how consistent he will be tho once we start playing real defenses, but we will see.

By the time these guys need to be extended, Shaq's bad contract will be off the books and he'll be in his 30's. I'm not hating on Shaq, but you're right, we can't keep everyone.

Can we really call it a "bad contract" anymore? Shaq is playing at a career best...

Take his draft stock out of it and he's cheap, young, absurdly physically talented, and has been underdeveloped in one of the worst situations in the NFL. That's a heck of an upside shot to take at a position of desperate need.

Seeing Jags fans saying there appear to be some mental issues. All offseason he would post strange cryptic tweets, some even described as borderline suicidal. Urban had to go to his house to talk him into even showing up to training camp. Also some injury issues. Missed half of last year with a groin injury. Just missed this week with a groin injury. Even with all that they still hate the trade.

Hopefully a change in environment will help and we do place high priority on mental health so that should help as well. He had been available for trade all offseason for a 2nd according to Jonathan Jones, but couldn’t find any takers which to me indicates the concerns were shared league wide because even a 2nd would be a steal for a top 10 pick just one year in.

Yeah.  But to be fair, if I had been drafted by the Jags, I may have suddenly become suicidal too.😂😂😂

In all seriousness, mental health is serious and should be treated as such.  We all deal with things from time to time, so everyone can relate...  again, knowing that Rhule had interviewed him and everything during the draft process and our organization approach to mental health gives me the utmost confidence.  I hope the young man just got a little more pep in his step in finding a new home here.

CB is one of the harder positions to transition from college. Getting a player graded that high for a TE and a 3rd is worth get excited about. Plus add in a 5th year option and it gets even better. Rhule scouted this guy last year so it's not like he's an unknown commodity. He hasn't lived up to his hype in Jax? Who has?

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
