FYI Panthers still have 5 draft picks next year

I have seen many people complain about low draft picks next year and wanted to clarify. We are only missing picks in round 2 and 3.

In addition to their own first, they currently own the Rams' fourth-rounder, a fifth from the Jaguars, either their own sixth or the Raiders' (the higher of the two goes to Buffalo), and Miami's seventh-rounder.

But to think in those terms, they sent a second- and fourth-rounder next year for a quality starting quarterback (Sam Darnold), and now a third for a starting-caliber corner.

Henderson was a consideration last year during the first round, but they ultimately went with Brown with the seventh overall pick.

And now they have another quality prospect, at a reduced rate.

Instead of saying we "lost our 2nd and third round pick", its better to say "we got sam darnold with our second and we got cj Henderson for our third".  Both are still on rookie contracts, and both have pro bowl ceilings if they figure it out, not getting many of those in the second or 3rd rounds.

Just think of it like this. We drafted our starting (and hopefully franchise) QB and one of our two long-term starting corners with next year's 2nd and 3rd.

We got to draft *BEFORE* everyone else.

This. It's all about value. We're getting young players who are still on their rookie contracts at the ceiling that you could only pray for in a 2nd or 3rd rounder at those positions.

Fitty-cents can take our 1st, 4th , 5th, 6th, and 7th picks and make all the trades he wants to put us in  the SB next year .

pretty sure it's the Texan's 4th, but maybe they got it from the Rams.

We started this year's draft with 7 picks and left with 12.  So those five picks could grow to 8.

We should have fewer holes to fill as well.
