Center above everything. If we moved on from Erving it would cost us over 5 million in dead cap and if we move on from both him and Elflein next year it would be ten million in dead cap. Odds are they aren't going anywhere. Bad signings.

Are these numbers accurate? Good gawd. For those guys I would have made them pay me

I think center is the biggest need because Paradis is throwing everything off and everyone has to compensate for it.

Looks like there are some options available for Center next season. Guess it really depends on how they feel with their current team and if they are going to open up the wallet

Considering how we did with olinemen this year in free agency, I'm not comfortable with this crew throwing contracts that way.

At this point, if Fritts is as good as we hope and frankly need, he can trade away some players for better ones in the draft. Being in the corner where you get ride of quality draft picks and over priced free agents will look like Seatle, without Russ. No cap, no picks and no good options but to start a fire sale. If we can get a 2nd and 5th for a player like Shaq, pull the trigger. Anyone not on a rookie contract should be considered if they are not a great player.

So, I've advocated for signing Mitchell Schwartz to a make good deal, knowing he may not be able to play much, if at all, this season.

Also interesting that Erving has *some* experience playing center. I would say he would at least be a mild improvement in the center position, if not a major one.

I know the bye isn't for several weeks, but I would take the chance on moving Moton to LT, putting Brady at RT with Erving at C and see if something clicks. The time for trying things is now.

Next year, you could have Moton at LT (or a draft pick), Schwartz at RT, Erving at C and draft picks/FA to fill the rest.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
