I'm praying it's real, but that's not the real Schefter, so I doubt it's true. But in my head canon, it is.

Yeah, just read that is a fake account. I don't do the twitter much so don't know the handles. But the funny part is I got that from the Falcons board and they were all depressed about it. So that's something right??

When healthy, it's very possible - maybe even likely - we have the best cornerback room in the NFL.

If the opponents want to put two WR's on the field?  Fine.  Our CB's won't get winded.

You want to go four wide?  Fine.  Jaycee, Stephon, CJ, Donte.  Good luck.  Oh, and Chinn over the top.

I think you answered your own question - we are gunning for a Super Bowl this year.

I’m not sure it 100% means that. We could have traded next year’s first for Orlando Brown (our 2022 1st at that time was worth more than KC’s 2021 first). You’ve got two very young high ceilings CBs in Horn and CJ (especially) and let’s be honest Donte isn’t on Gilmore’s level. You are basically paying $4M for the rest of the year to rent Gilmore to make a run and see what happens but more importantly to help bring the young guns along. If he signs elsewhere then you can replace the 6th you traded with a 5th.

The amount we “paid” isn’t close to a large investment so while I think they want to continue to play well, we sure haven’t gone all in on 2021 being the year. With Sam still getting better and our OL, you’d be crazy to go all in.

Horn may not play the rest of the year and CJ is still very green. Gilmore could easily move on next year, maybe even Donte. I’d say except for maybe a playoff game or two if Horn comes back this year, those 4 aren’t ever playing together. It’s a nice thought but if Horn’s not hurt, who knows if we trade for CJ or Gilmore. I’d say CJ’s trade would still be likely even if Horn was healthy, not Gilmore.

That's if we can pay both Gilmore and Jackson...

The sad thing is that DJax has been playing his best ball this year and is a team captain.  I hope this is not writing on the wall for his future with the Cats.

Paying a 32 year old Gilmore a big deal is a lot less likely than just extending Donte for maybe even half of what Gilmore wants. I can easily see Donte, CJ and Horn starting next year. I honestly don’t think we’ll pay Gilmore unless he gives us a huge hometown discount and that’s not likely. I think Gilmore is more than happy to have a year at home with family, show he’s still got it (easier with some pressure) and then get paid and retire back here.

Yeah Djax is not gonna settle for "half of what Gilmore wants"

Explain to me how this is "win now" mode when the O-line is literally the worst part of this team and the major fact of the woe's this offense has had AND the major reason we lost to Dallas? This line isn't going to hold up the whole season.

Tell me how getting a 31 year old CB is Win now mode? Like, what am I missing here.

Our offense is ranked 8th in passing, 17th in rushing and 13th in scoring. The offense hasn’t had “woes”

the reason we lost to Dallas is because we couldn’t stop the run and get Dallas off the field.
