Can you imagine having Creed over Paradis???

This isn't hindsight either in the draft thread a number of us were talking about the C's and Smith specifically but other Gs as well. This OL wouldn't be weak at all given those two and rookies at that. LT would still leave a lot to be desired but can actually plan around one really weak spot rather than 4.

Yea was gonna say or even Trey Smif in the 3rd...would be looking better overall as a team but that's not TM's fault and he's still a player. Getting Shi Smith who can play later in the rounds as well makes it looks worse from a team building perspective.

Would much rather have Humphrey and Smith but here we are.

That was what drove me insane. We were making luxury picks when we still had a lot of building to do.

IMO, the staff did not appreciate how critical OL play is. They thought they could dumpster dive their way to an average OL. It just doesn't work that way. Rhule talked all offseason about talent and versatility when it came to the OL. One thing he never talked about was ABILITY. They thought they could mold these guys into good linemen, when that had never been the case in their NFL careers. Then you double down by taking two project offensive linemen who you can't even play on a line this bad.

I have beat the dogshit out of this horse but my God.....this was so avoidable.

If we took Creed over Marshall and Smith over a long snapper we’d have a pretty solid OL and we could have dumped Paradis and saved a chunk of cap space. Woulda, shoulda, coulda but yet again our OL would be young and solid if Brown and BC develop. All we would have lost is Marshall and a long snapper.

i bet anyone on this board can do a better job at Center than Matt f'n Paradis right now.   Good lord...

Probably what Samuel did last year as WR3? I assume people were hoping for 60-70% of that. Samuel averaged over 60 yards a game. Marshall is at over 19 yards a game.

Samuel averaged 6 targets  per game.  Marshall is averaging 3 per game PLUS he is a rookie.  All I am saying is give him time. Everyone expects instant results. It's not realistic.

Stop making excuses he was supposed to be an upgrade over Samuel and he isn’t the man sucks he has done nothing quit making excuses

He has played 6 career games with 2 established WRs ahead of him and questionable play from Darnold. (Almost got him decapitated last week). Try actually watching games before blurting out dumb poo.

Just telling you what I think the expectations were. He had a great preseason so people were pretty hyped. Also, seeing how well his LSU teammates have done probably also set some expectations because of the great preseason.

Also, please stop with the not realistic stuff. There are tons of day 1 and day 2 (and some day 3) instant impact players. It happens a lot. Someone mentioned Creed Humphrey, who’s played phenomenal and was selected after Marshall. I loved Erik McCoy over Greg Little, instant impact in round 2 as well. Some rookies develop, but there are a lot who contribute immediately as well, including Marshall’s teammate WRs.

He averaged 20 yds per reception in the preseason. Pretty much the exact same as he's averaging per game like you posted.....

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
