I’m thinking of DJ and Robby’s faces on the sideline. They have to be thinking “this guy was sold on Teddy and now Darnold….” It’s probably more frustration that anything, but that’s how it starts. IMO DJ should be a top 10 WR in this league. Get him a real QB and his stats will explode.

The tape is really tough to watch on these games. We miss a lot of wide open players on offense.

The loss to the Cardinals following the bye had everyone FREAKING out.  Maybe the score differential wasn't as bad in other games, but I'd argue that loss is definitely one of the worst regular season ones we had.  Everyone had basically given up on Ron Rivera at that point.  Cam's 3rd season and he still hadn't cut out the bad throws.  Smith dropped hella throws that game.

It was bad.  As angry as fans have been since Sunday... I still don't think it compares to the reaction/negativity following that game.  That game basically forced Ron Rivera to turn into Riverboat Ron.

I had forgotten about that one. It's closer but that Cardinals team still went 10-6  according to my research. They were led by Carson Palmer and were not a bad team at all. This Giants group is a bottom feeder, especially with all the injuries they have.

Where do the Panthers rank in dropped balls… I’m thinking pretty high. Moore and Robby should be thinking about how to catch a pass.

Moore catches plenty. He is also wide open on many plays and overlooked by Darnold. I get his frustration. Plus he knows it’s a matter of time before Sam throws a pick or fumbles.

I knew Darnold was bad. Been saying it all year when he was barely competent against poo teams.

But damn, man... Rhule's coaching gets worse with each game. 3 Points? Against the Giants? Whew...

It is possibly the most embarrassing loss in the history of this franchise.

Exactly how long have you followed the Panthers?

I remember that game. Cam started out like 10/10 or 11/11 then drops started bad. That game was infuriating.

The sad thing is Gettlelman was right you need Hog Mollies. I pointed out yesterday to my wife that the Giants O line is so much bigger than ours. Our O line is pathetic! Insert any QB and they will fail.

EXACTLY!!!! You need to start with the biggest guys you can get first, especially up front.

Not a fan of smallish QBs either.

I sincerely hope that's not what Robbie is thinking. He needs to be thinking about which sports psychologist he pay to fix his broken psyche.

That team had Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly they were going to figure it out

Okay, but that was 100% NOT the thinking back then.  Let's not play revisionist history.  Everyone was calling for heads then, especially Rivera's.  I'd argue the negative reaction was worse than it is now.  It was looking like another failed season with our franchise QB.

    • We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.
    • This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
    • Nope. No balling out but he could latch on as a backup elsewhere. I still think he would be the weak link on a ridiculously loaded team that would create problems in the Playoff and while facing other really good teams. His limitations are just to much at this level. I have zero fear of playing him in the future. It's a litmus test for the D, granted the D is pretty awful currently so none needed.
