It's a weird feeling to be somewhat glad the team didn't mortgage the future for someone with sexual assault allegations while being extremely depressed at the state of our team...

The only guy that might make sense is Jackson, but that's probably a dumb move. Outside of that you can probably try and dump Paradis and Anderson for anything you can take, which is probably nothing.

It's not a happy time, no. Admittedly this the worst I've felt about the state of the team since Pre-Cam. But had we signed Watson, as far as I'm concerned the franchise would've died to me that day. Would the number of fans walking away make an actual difference? Probably not, but I'd have been far from the only one. If a couple of years of QB purgatory is the alternative to winning with a predator, fine by me.

What I know for sure is that our QB hasn't made the offense better (which makes the defense appear worse as well), and it's even more of a QB-driven league than it was a decade ago.

Without a franchise QB, you're really nothing but a dice roll in the NFL.

Not to mention that knowing our history, including that whole fiasco, makes this much worse.

The NFL has always been a QB driven league. Go back through every Super Bowl from this year to 1966 and tell me how many times the QB wasn't good. It's very, very little.

You cannot continually sacrifice all you have, and cut yourself down to the bone over and over again in pursuit of a QB. You build as much as you can, and if the time comes, take a swing for the fences if you have to make a trade up. But this idea that you swing, even on these fringe prospects, and hope that one of them just magically flips the script isn't a winning formula. The Browns did it for decades.

I'm not so sure about that. During the Clausen era we had less talent and a lame duck coach. I mean, Fox was a better coach than Rhule IMO, but his final year was brutal thanks to Ownership and the FO.

2010 was the worst. The biggest difference is not many people bought in on that team and a lot more did with this team.

2011 is what washed away a lot of the pain of 2010, 2022 ain't looking like roses with the capital we already pissed away. And to be honest, I'm not at all confident in this crews ability to bring in an good answer at this point. I hope they prove that feeling wrong.

      No poo tho you might could Jenkins for Legette. They got nothing at WR after the big 2 in Cincy. I don’t think you trade away OL depth. Could get a quality player in cuts. Really that 3-4 end spot what you should be looking for is someone who is stout with long arms and can push back the OL in both the run and pass game for others to make plays…. But we signed Wharton, sometimes I think Evero is a fraud ass nerd who should be an analyst at best.

      you would honestly probably do Monroe Freeling more of a disservice by putting him in a position where is not yet ready to succeed. .we all knew Monroe Freeling struggled at the NFL combine in drills because of technique related issues & would need time to develop  & now all of a sudden before they even put the pads on Monroe Freeling is somehow a starting LT in the NFL ? if he struggled at the NFL scouting combine what do you actually think is going to happen in a live NFL game at LT ? .even our best LT of all time was not ready to start at LT when he was a rookie & he turned out to be a pretty good darn LT by the name of Jordan Gross ...just saying be patient Young Jedis

      well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
