If you could rewind time…Would you have picked Mac Jones? (Article)

The mistake wasn't passing on Fields & Jones ..... the mistake was not taking Slater.  Now the Panthers need to use next years first round pick on the O-line and then have to wait another whole year before being drafting a QB in Round 1.  Where as if they took Slater then next draft could have gone QB or even another OL if didnt like any of the QB's and then have two top picks on the line when drafting a QB the following year.  I guess they could go QB next draft and cross fingers and hope we have a better oline next year, but this current staff does not give me the optimism that is possible.

Ugh.. this sucks being in No QB, No Oline and a staff of all college coaches hell.

We have 3 of the worst QBs in the league on our team this year and people are worried about his ceiling, its amusing.

Fans are so worried about finding a 10, they are passing on 8s, and in the meantime they are stuck with 3s.

The ceiling thing is amusing as it shows they have nothing to say. It's like saying a game is atmospheric... Means nothing a fuking dirty room is atmospheric.

It comes down to the staff not necessarily talent. We have never been able to develop a qb and cam was just that talented.

Cam saw his biggest development at New England for that one whole year...like how fuging pathetic is that poo.

Still Slater and it's not close.

Yall want to pretend Mac would look good here? No one would look good playing QB for the Panthers. I bet he would look like Sam by the end of the year...

Mac Jones would get ruined here. No good players want to play for the Panthers. Stafford gave this garbage franchise the middle finger.

Don’t let the NFL media machine push their narrative on you in hope of creating another poster boy.

Winning is not a QB specific stat.

That Patriots roster was built to win now in the offseason with a plug and play QB. All they are asking of the QB is to run the offense and not turn the ball over.

This is the classic Pats Belichek model that they have used for 20 years now and allowed a guy like Matt Cassel to step in and still take the Pats to the playoffs.

When Mac Jones starts carrying the team when they’re down and winning them games then we can talk.

The Pats would maybe have 2 wins if Mac Jones was their QB last season. That roster was a train wreck.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
