Teddy B I’m sorry, it wasn’t all your fault!

As frustrating as Teddy was to watch, it definitely wasn't all his fault.  It's also not all Darnold's fault either.

I think Joe Brady is in over his head.  He's just not ready to be an NFL coordinator yet.  What he did with LSU was trememdous.  But he didn't call the plays.  And that LSU team was most definitely stacked.  Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase against college competition is just UNFAIR.

We've definitely made poor decisions at QB.  But it wasn't all them either.  We just aren't right on that side of the ball, despite having perhaps the best set of skill position players we've ever had.

It was partly Teddy's fault and partly Brady's fault. Hard to determine how much because Teddy still has displayed a lot of the same characteristics he did in Carolina this season, as well.

The overwhelming bulk of Darnold's issues are Sam Darnold. He is doing the same things he did for three years in NY.

Definitely not saying Brady isn't over his head, I believe he is. But the issues we are having are because of franchise worst level of QB mismanagement from Rhule.

I mean, Darnold did already achieve what Teddy failed to do in 8 tries last year. That doesn't make him automatically better by any means, but it does highlight the fortitude missing in Teddy's game. Not going anywhere meaningful without it; just ask the pre-Mahomes Chiefs.

By all means, please continue to completely miss and/or willfully ignore the point.

You gotta think about it. Teddy called out the staff after he was traded and basically told everyone what's going on. The Carolina coaching staff doesn't practice red zone or 2 minute drills.

Robby Anderson told us that the opposing teams know what plays we are going to run before we even snap the ball. We also run the same plays over and over if we got a moderate gain from them. If you've watched the last 2 seasons, both Darnold and Bridgewater just throw the checkdown every time! It's the only thing open because their defense has the Carolina offense figured out!

I regret everything I've said about Bridgewater behind this horrible O-line. I don't think you guys remember how BAD our defense was last year. We regularly gave up 3rd and 25 over and over.

At least last season I could get a nice buzz and watch a competitive game of football.  This season of football has been downright boring and laughable on offense while our defense has vastly been better.

Exactly what I was saying, thank you!

Its true. Teddy is what he is which is a middling Qb...the issue is clearly on Brady/OL/QB. his routes are running people into DBs and no that's not all on Sam thats where they are running their routes right into the defender.

You can hear WRs like Marshall talk about it like with the jets they had routes that ran the WR into the DBs like Brady was talking about and Smitty. Sam is throwing the design of the play, there is no route that should have a WR going into a Db its a scheme issue regardless of who the QB would be.

Then ofc Darnold sucks and the OL is the worst thing this team has ever seen and I mean that literally.

If nobody else is going to say it I will. I was wrong Teddy was not the problem at all. Rhule and Brady college ass’s running this team in the ground. Thanks Tepper for listening to Hurney’s a$$ one last time to sign Rhule. Teddy was right they don’t know how to run a team and can’t score in the redzone. I will no longer give Teddy blame for last year after watching all this. This team has no clue, and it starts with Tepper. I hate NFL ever awarded you the team!

well he's the same qb putting up 50% competion for 212 yards every week in denver. he is who he is. safer than darnold but won't win the game. darnold couldn't start for Florida at this point.

This OL wouldn't start for Florida either

Hell this OL might not make Blinn College team

It always felt like Teddy was the guy you bring in to mentor and play in front of your rookie. Teddy had a nice deep ball yesterday, reminded me of him playing in college. Part of me thinks that he's just never fully recovered mentally from his leg injury. Either way, he should be the guy teaching a Fields or someone like that right now.

Ha.. This Sam Darnold quarterbacked team is some of the worst Panther football I've ever seen and I've watched nearly all of them.

We were in every game last season even though we had a rookie coaching staff and undermanned talent wise. Teddy was the reason for that.

That’s about the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever read.

Which is maybe why Rhule should have sucked it up and kept Teddy and drafted Fields. I guess we'll get a good look at Fields tonight on MNF

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
