CAM NEWTON IS NOT THE ANSWER. THIS IS A MISTAKE.

There are ZERO good answers now, Cam is the best option left on the table.

Maybe he comes back and gets injured, he was going to do it for someone eventually and we are 1 for 1 on guys being cast off in NE. Maybe nothing changes and it's so bad here that it's burn it all down time, so we were headed that way anyways.

I'll be happy to have Cam come back and play.  It's not really about winning, it's about healing this fanbase, organization, and Cam.

I was definitely one that thought it was time to move on from the Cam, but in retrospect I wasn't happy with the way it went down, and we had no one that could fill the massive void he left.

This will be good for the fans, and hopefully inject some excitement in the locker room.

This is the perfect love right now. Cam is the best QB on the market and it mends a bridge that looked to be years away from potentially being mended. It also lights a fire under a pissed off at best and apathetic at worst fanbase.

Give me Cam for this year and bring him back next year to be Sam Howell's wet nurse and this fan couldn't be happier.

If the question is "Best QB available?" Cam is probably the answer. If the question is, "QB that is better than anything we have?" Cam Newton is the answer.

He doesn't answer many more questions than that. I don't think even the most ardent Cam Homer believes he is gonna come in here, be 2015 Cam and lead us to the Super Bowl. At best, we are just excited to see a competent QB on the field and the return of arguably the greatest player in franchise history.

Anything more than that is just icing.

That's more an indictment against the decisions the Panthers have made the last couple years than a point in Cam's favor.

And did you see the post in the 30+ page thread where the overemotional homer of a mod said the team would be 9-0 or at least 8-1 if Cam had been the QB all season? Some really do believe he can take the this team to the Super Bowl.

The blame game and told you so's after the first game Cam plays aren't going to be through the roof, they're going to go up like a Space X Rocket GIF

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
