Rhule's Press Conference Irked Me

part of Rhules job is to put up a politically correct coach speak facade

Na man if you're a yokel you expect the coach to start shitting on players and themselves and everyone else because you only have one tooth left due to meth.

You know the yokels from here are literally the only fanbase from any sport that actually takes coach speak to heart lol its so fugin funny. No one wants to talk to the media, no one likes the media, no one gives a poo about the media. Yet here they go roflmao...

I understand coach speak but there are ways to do it without coming off like an ass. Just like there are ways to reply in a thread without coming off like an ass.

I didn't think Rhule came off like an ass and it certainly sounded like he expected Cam to start after this week, without actually saying he expected him to start after this week.

That's b/c your IQ is greater than 70 lol not even responding to that corny poo otherwise up there

Why is everyone so worried about what Rhule says at this point in his coaching career? He has done the exact opposite of everything he said. Actions speak louder than words. He says he supports Sam during his poor play, now gets a QB to replace him in Cam. Says he supports PJ Walker, gets Cam. Says in his Monday pressers that he is not talking about hypotheticals about bringing in Cam, reports are that he called Cam on Monday to set up this meeting on Thursday. Whatever Rhule says, expect the opposite!

It matters a lot. Tepper is a shrewd businessman before anything else. This franchise is bleeding support, and is struggling to fill half the stadium with fans of the home team. Fans need some reason to come to games.

He has enough money to not sell a single ticket for few years and be ok.

I know folks dont want to hear this but Tepper brought in Cam to fill seats.  The price of tickets for the Washington game doubled right after the announcement. This was a no brainer. If Cam wins some games then the excitement is back and maybe we have a winning season. If he sucks we stiill fill seats as folks will want to see Cam  not knowing if this is a long term deal or short term rental.

You still need PJ to play well this week. What is gained by taking the wind out his sails before he even steps on the field?

In short, it's just coach speak and there was enough said by Rhule and others to indicate Cam will start as soon as next week.

    • There's really two parts to this question.   1) What does Bryce have to do to prove that he was worthy of the 1st overall pick (and the Panthers trade up to acquire said pick) and be seen as the franchise QB/face of the organization for the foreseeable future?  2) What does Bryce have to do to be a serviceable starter past this season and allow the team to be in a position of not being desperate in their next try at acquiring a franchise QB? I don't think Bryce is capable of ever living up to the expectation of the 1st overall pick and being a franchise QB.  His physical limitations will not allow him to ever be that QB.   He could, however, show enough to be a placeholder.  Not what you want out of this deal but it's better than him being released at the end of the season.  Minimum of 6-8 wins with him showing he can lead the offense (scoring around 17-24 points per game on offense) and make plays when it matters especially as the end of the season nears.  It will also show that Morgan is capable of assembling a competitive roster and Caneles is capable of installing a modern NFL offense.   Then you wait and draft/sign/trade for a franchise QB when the situation is to your best advantage.  This is how the Chiefs got Mahomes, the Eagles got Hurts, the Ravens got Jackson and the Packers got both Rodgers and Love.  Or we luck into it like the Patriots did with Brady and the 49er's did with Purdy.
    • The only reason---which is a significant reason---that Penny is not miles (no pun intended) ahead of Sanders is due to health. Availability is the best ability in this case. When Penny is able to play, he has been the better back. His career averages in both running and receiving are markedly better, and Miles has arguably been playing behind a better line.
    • That being said, when was the last time you saw Freddie spending more time sprawled on the ice versus keeping his feet? Playoff Freddie is not the same goalie who played exceptionally well since coming back from his medical issue. We're seeing someone other than regular season Freddie and I'm not impressed, especially the last 3-4 games.
