I just don’t care. After last week it became very obvious that our coaching staff isn’t good enough and our defense has very large holes, especially in the middle of the field.
People say wait till year 3, Rhule is always good in year 3, is superstitious nonsense similar to people believing we will always make the playoffs in odd years with Rivera.
I hope we win, but I believe this is another wasted year…again.

Awful year one, mediocre year two, ready to legit compete year three. That's always been his pattern. The problem is that thusfar I'm not seeing the pattern of progression from last year to this year and the in game coaching honestly seems worse and so does the team discipline. The arrow is pointing down IMO. Last year it felt like the talent level was holding back the coaching staff. This year it feels like the coaching staff is holding back the talent level.

Sam Darnold held us back quite a bit this year. That loss to the Giants? He threw 3 picks. That's on Sam. You don't win games when you throw 3 picks. That wasn't the only game like that either. The Patriots game was just as bad. Eagles he threw several picks, etc. If Sam Darnold wasn't our QB, we would be pretty much a lock for the playoffs at this point.

The Darnold decision was on the coaching staff/FO. But so is the Cam decision. (You can speculate differently, but until there is evidence, all it is is fantasy.) Too little too late? Maybe, sure, but potentially having a good QB going into next year IS promising.

Sounds like he is good at building teams but terrible at coaching them.
In college he always struggled against better coaching and competition. Both at Temple and at Baylor. I struggled to see what he did at college to deserved an NFL job when he was hired and I am really wondering right now.
I feel like this team may be in a situation where we will be ready to be contenders and until we get a better coaching staff we will be held back.
So what I am saying is I agree with what you are saying. I am not seeing the improvement from the coaching staff I was hoping from the coaching staff.

NFC East is stronger than our own division.

Sad, but true.

Every season is a new one. One stat that I quoted often during the offseason was that both times a division had been won by a sub .500 team, the following season, it took 10 wins to win that same division.

I don’t see how people can give up mid season . Still plenty of football left. Anything can happen. Miami is a tricky team. You never know which team you will get. Kind of like us. Tua looked solid last time I seen him in action. I’m looking for our d to have a bounce back game

Over two years, The coaching staff does not exude competency to many fans

The players assembled by the coaches do not seem to do well against bigger lines

the team does not seem to have the guts to hit back when punched in the face   Not angry enough  about their situation or poor game plans make it impossible or maybe they just aren’t good enough Or smart enough

These things combined doesn’t exactly inspire excitement

later in the season, good teams get better.  Bad teams get worse

Their losing to truly mediocre teams has been enough for me.  I’ll watch them because I love the NFL but that’s it.  That defensive effort last week against a not great Washington team told me all I need to know

could be worse, could be the Bears

Is everyone too afraid to talk about this matchup with the 4-7 Dolphins......?

we'll lose because of coaching. the dolphins might back door into the playoffs since the D has finally showed up. If they'd stop switching QBs and just stick with Tua they'll be fine. They a dumpster fire too.

I'm not giving up on the team.  I would love to see them win out.  It hurts the draft pick but I'd rather see a wining season.  I believe out defense will bounce back and I hope they stay consistent.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
