Many of us here knew what was up last year when we lost several very winnable games. It wasn’t all the QBs fault.

Yeah, essentially the last year has been us repeating the steps of the scientific method to figure out what is going on here. We've worked through pretty much all of the variables. The constant is Brady.

Teddy has a weak arm, Brady is shielded from a lot of criticism.

Sam has issues going through progressions and making good decisions, Brady is shielded from a lot of criticism.

CMC is hurt like every other game, Brady is shielded from a lot of criticism.

The O-line has issues, Brady is shielded from a lot of criticism.

But then you have times like last week. Cam plays great, CMC makes great plays, the O-line doesn't look bad, and Brady still can't generate points or really any sustained drives.

Joe has issues with short yardage, Joe has issues with the red zone. So they go out and get him a QB that should be a short yardage and red zone cheat code, and he still looks mediocre.

Brady is just not good enough. He is the constant, and is in over his head.

4 weeks ago I would have poo’d this post and gone on a rant about Teddy talking nonsense and the signs of improvement from last season to this season... but that would have been my reaction for weeks ago.

Now?

I hope Tepper does what I wanted him to do when he came here. Tear the ENTIRE thing down, add fist fulls of draft picks and get an NFL coach and let him build this team accordingly.

If I'm Fitt I try like hell to trade down with this year's first and get as many picks as I can.

Rhule and his staff should be gone by the end of the year.  His era is DOA.

Rhule/the staff sucking and Teddy being a crap starter aren't mutually exclusive by any means. The difference last year was that Teddy had years of film on him and the Carolina staff still had some benefit of the doubt. This year though, Rhule and Brady in particular just really seem out of their depth.

With respect to Teddy's comments, it was still a weak move to toss it out as he did, even worse since it was sandwiched with an 'i don't make excuses, but...'. Moving on was absolutely the right move but that doesn't mean Rhule, Brady, etc al don't suck as well.

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
