Donte Jackson headed to injured reserve

I expect the defense to play better now at least.  Washington laid the blueprint on how to beat us, and one of the biggest tenets of it was to attack Donte in the passing game.  He was horrible the last two weeks, and I'm sure Sunday was his last game as a Panther.

Also, the ghost of Hurney still wanders the halls of Mint St. apparently...  Amazing how all these mystery injuries go from barely noticed or not mentioned to season-ending in two days time.  Pathetic.

Teams that can run the ball effectively can pretty much impose their will on us.

I'm not sure Jackson being out makes a difference on that front one way or the other.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
