Person: Rhule could be next, but probably not this year

Rivers’s team generally started slow and finished strong, indicating the players didn’t quit on him.

Rhule seems to be the reverse, question open to me is does he have the locker room behind as Rivera did?

We could only hope.  The Falcons, while still losing, have been competitive of late.  We rarely sweep them and I think a home loss to to a sub-.500 team should be the final straw.  Plus, firing Rhule this early gives us a leg up in the next search.  Waiting until the end of the season puts us in the same pool as all the other teams needing head coaches.   My worry is we actually beat the Falcons and Rhule gets a life line that needlessly prolongs his tenure. 

My two biggest wants right now is Rhule gone and the highest draft position we can get.  Losing out accomplishes both.  A meaningless win or two screws up one, possibly both of those.

as ridiculous as it sounds, the panthers can still make the playoffs.

rhule is done the moment the panthers fall out of contention.

I’ve been saying all year. He isn’t getting fired after year 2 of a 6-7 year deal. He has to fix the QB situation and at this point I’m not sure if it’s fixable or if they’re going to gut the team trying…but he will get a year 3. Almost without a doubt in my mind.

what makes you think Matt Rhule can fix a QB situation?  His teams never have good QB play.

The problem is the qb situation should be clearer at the tail end of year two and it is more murky than when he started here. 
 

If I’m Tepper, and money isn’t the issue, I’m getting this dude out of the way and letting Fitterer and the new coach come in and begin the building process again.

I don't think that we have enough information yet to know what Tepper is going to do.

Typically, he makes the wrong decision when he has a choice, so my guess is he gets another year.

Lame duck in year 3. I see no way this team is a playoff team next year. OL is still a problem and we still need a long term plan at QB. 
Rhule shouldn’t get a year 3. Nothing is gonna change.

I'd still give Rhule the start of next year but with a very short leash. Even if we were to lose out this year (which we likely will, and should).

All other bad decisions aside, this is the main reason Tepper shouldn't give Rhule a third bite of the apple.
