If Matt Rhule is the coach next season, I will…

Completely disagree.  I've been following this team since I was a kid in the 90s.  This is the worst stretch of Panthers football ever.  We're moving into joke territory like where the Lions live.  We've always at least been mediocre.

JR was never the best owner, but he was also never the worst.  He promised us a Super Bowl win in 10 years, and did everything he could to make that happen.  Sure, being a Panther fan has had its fair share of disappointment.  But this is a completely different feeling entirely.  This franchise is rapidly approaching hopelessness.

Statistically speaking this is tied with the worst 4 year stretch but can’t quite call it it, statistically, the worst stretch without seeing years 5 and 6.

And after the tied stretch we are literally talking about one win. One, that separates it from the second worst stretch as already articulated in my last post.

So generally speaking we are right on par with our tri-yearly lull in the franchise history.

Franky, you need more years to call it the worst stretch. And no, it’s not close to the Lions territory.

The Lions just fielded historically the worst team and record since….yea their OWN record in 2008. Lol, it’s not close.

Look I am a realist poster and have even been called a doom and gloomer and if you want to call us kings of the poo pile like the Jags and Jets, I’ll completely agree. But the Lions and Browns are true misery.

And this ain’t the worst stretch, it could be, but not quite yet. Give me 2-3 years and I will call it hopeless but my point was the Panthers, statistically, we’re always bad to begin with. It’s just the way it is.

I've been a supporter of pro-football in Charlotte before there was even an NFL franchise twinkle in JRs eye. I go way back to being a fan of the WFL Hornets in the 1970s.

Yes, JR was far from perfect, but there was no doubt he was dedicated to the Panthers fielding a competitive team.  JR's downfall was Hurney and unbelievably, Tepper fell into the same trap.

Not sure what Tepper believes he is doing, holding on to someone like Matt Rhule, undoubtably the worst head coach in this franchise's history.  Rhule is in way over his head.  If Tepper has been paying any attention whatsoever, it shouldn't require a third season to determine Rhule IS the problem, not the solution.

I don't have a lot of time to myself. I won't waste it watching this trash. You kind of need hope that they could win, even if they suck. As long as Matt Rhule is the coach, there is no hope. To say he's a terrible coach is an insult to terrible coaches everywhere. It's humiliating that he's made this team a laughingstock. He is silly and not up to the job. I'll come back once he's gone. I really hate that f.....!

    • Tell me something I don’t know. I said right there in what you quoted I wasn’t optimistic. I said I could still be hopeful. Which ain’t the same but will have to do.  I have optimism regarding more compartmentalization aspects of the team. Some players. The good draft we had is cause for optimism. Maybe that Tepper is actually being less harmful. Maybe.  I had some for Canales but his meter is about 50% right now with me.  Etc
    • Got a little more juice in us this period. Gotta get these chances to start falling. Ducks and us keep getting these chippies that are missing. First team to start banging these in and I think the floodgates open.
    • The things that make people give up on him is that he is getting worse in terms of simple football things and he isn't improving on much in terms of being a WR. He has improved his drops but then he has increased his insanely boneheaded penalties. I mean, the dude has THREE false start penalties. That is the second most on the team.  Couple that with his obvious limitations in terms of field vision, agility, etc and you just start to wonder what there really is to even believe in. I'll put it this way, when such a notoriously terrible personnel management coach like Canales gives up on you, that's saying a lot. He has ridden more bums for longer than any of us care to remember.
