How close are you to checking out?

I’m close, but I’m still a few years from completely cutting the chord. I know next year is a wash, so I’m already looking forward to 2023 draft time.

I am where I was during the 2010 season, though. I didn’t watch or really pay attention to the team.

When they announce Rhule is officially back next year, I will officially check out. I will begin planning my golf trips for every Sunday next year. Every tee time will be booked and I will find myself a nice different scotch, whiskey or bourbon to share with my friends on the course and BBQ afterwards.

I stopped going to the games years ago.  I didn't watch the last 2 games as I knew the outcome.  The last game will be no different. 

I will watch them occasionally just see how bad they really are but I will not be emotionally invested in them anymore.

For me, the checkout “process” (as Fatt Fhule would call it) started after the giants game. The dolphins game ultimately freed up my Sunday afternoons. Could careless about this team and the current product they are trying to sell. Once that’s gone, I’ll be back.

Only reason I watch now is because I have a kid that’s 11 that loves football and the panthers are his team well because he’s saw me his whole life being a panthers fan….

I’ve told him he should pick another team… but he doesn’t want to…

so I watch with him as a father/son thing he knows we suck and he knows why so until he tells me he doesn’t wanna watch anymore I’ll be watching … but for myself I’ve been emotionally checked out for awhile now

Rhule is simply in over his head at the NFL level.

Matt isn't going to magically "get it" if he is given a third season to "figure it out".

Until Matt Rhule is fired (this year or next) I'll be finding better things to do with my Sunday afternoons.

That's where I'm at. Panthers football was always the background around which we gathered. Now that money and interest will be spent elsewhere.

I'll never not be a Panthers fan. I won't be as interested and I won't follow as closely until Rhule is gone. I'll still watch the games when I'm free, but I'm not going to go out of my way to carve out time to watch them.
