Not to get political, but my goodness. I want this thread to be exhibit A the next time I ever hear someone say that women are to emotional and irrational to be president.

Here's a candidate that checks all the boxes. We said Rhule needs a coordinator with NFL HC experience. He's got that. We want someone who's been successful as an OC. He's got that. And still we get 10 pages of how he's the wrong kind of right for this position! Everyone is just looking for another reason to be upset.

He's a bad coach and a very failed former/fired HC.

Doesn't surprise me this is the best we can do after all that's happened. I'm not even getting upset I expected this. If you're glass half full about all this that's cool but there's a reason we've been clowned by the sports world for weeks now.

Seeing this guy reminds me of my youth when the Charlotte O's minor league baseball team (Jim Crockett Park) would find fans to come out on the field in those Sumo Wrestling outfits.  It was entertaining and humorous.  Maybe Matt and Ben could do something like that during halftime to entertain the fans?

There are legitimate concerns.

McAdoo flamed out horribly in new York. It was bad enough that I'm not sure you can really say "head coaching experience" in this case. Technically yes, but practically? No.

Yes, but there's precedent for flameout head coaches still being very successful as coordinators. Steve Spagnuolo comes to mind. And good or bad, I thing any NFL HC experience would be valuable on the Rhule coaching roster. Not saying McAdoo is at the top of my list, but I don't see anything here to merit the kneejerk dismissiveness the board is treating this news with.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
