Lamelo gone after his rookie contract.

Yeah, I don’t see us doing anything before the deadline 😒

Especially now the Hayward is out with yet another fuggin injury.

I don't think it's imperative to make a quick-fix move.. we should just be patient and see how Kai progresses over the offseason.. Plumlee will become an expiring contract and Hayward's deal will become less painful as well.. oh.. and next year is Batum's last time he counts $9m against our cap..

we are years removed from an average of 3 bloated contracts on our payroll.. other than Hayward - im happy with where everyone is at.. MB will get paid this offseason - and we shudn't make a short-sighted move that makes it tougher to keep him.. he wants to be here and so will other guys to come play with Ball

The Raptors, Heat, and Rockets are being linked to Washington.

For the Raptors, they don’t have a whole lot that really helps us. The only trade that I could really come up with is P.J. Washington and Vernon Carey for Chris Boucher (expiring contract), Precious Achiuwa, and a 2nd round pick. This trade essentially provides us with cap space and young power forward in Achiuwa.

Like the Raptors, the Heat don’t have much to offer us. One scenario is P.J. Washington and the protected first round pick we obtained from New Orleans for Max Strus, Udonis Haslem (buy out), and Miami’s first round pick. This trade gets us another guy who can stretch the floor and a first round pick.

Now for Houston, we should be all over Christian Wood. P.J. Washington, James Bouknight (essentially a first round pick), and Ish Smith for Christian Wood seems like a solid deal for everyone involved.

I'm not a fan of any of those trade ideas. The Hornets still have a logjam at PF even without Washington. Trading NO's protected first, which should be higher than Miami's if it conveys, for Miami's doesn't seem that smart. Gutting the guard depth for Wood also doesn't seem like a smart move.

Hell no. Those look like a bunch of Rich Cho panic trades. We come out as losers in every one of those deals.

They only way Mitch is making a move is if it nets us a starting center.

PJ, Nick or Vern (Maybe McDaniels but we need him if we move PJ) a protected future first and a second for a guy like Jusuf Nurkic, (only if we plan to extend him) Christian Wood, or Richaun Holmes are the kind of deals Mitch should be after. No way I'm giving up Bouknight half a year into his rookie season. If a trade doesn't happen we can sign a guy like Mitchell Robinson or Nurkic in free agency without having to give up any assets.

We have control of Lamelo for 3 more years after this season. No need to fug up and do something stupid at the deadline because you think he's going to leave. We're on the right track. Mitch just needs to continue to do what he's been doing. Our future is bright.

I've read that we might have a deal:

PJ Washington to the Heat
Marcus Morris + Omer Yurtseven + 2nd Round Pick to Charlotte

I don't know if I like that but we need to get bigger and better on defense. This would do that. I have felt that we need to sell high on PJ cus we are definitely keeping Miles next year and giving him a big bag.

    • Not to me. You win six games by 3 points but lose one by 30, you have a negative point differential but still have a winning record. Stats are flukey in football. That's why I don't rely on them for evaluation.  But again, my evaluation of this team is not that they're a great team or even a very good team. What I've seen doesn't bear that out. I see an average to potentially above average team that can beat bad teams and also has been able to hang with some good ones. Mind you, that's an improvement from previous seasons but it's still not where we want to be.  And no, I'm still not convinced we get to where we want to be with Bryce at the helm. But we have some challenging games coming up where he at least has a chance to prove me and other doubters wrong. Bottom Line: I doubt my overall assessment of the team is all that different from yours. We just arrive at our respective takes via differing paths.
    • We also took XL over McConkey. The Panthers always have an almost illogical hard on for project players that fulfill height/weight/speed parameters who may not have been the best players in college.  Although to be fair,  Tmac was consistently productive and that paid off. They didn't over think that pick and they benefited.  McConkey was insanely explosive at Georgia but the Panthers probably never even considered him with a below average height/weight/other measurable.
    • 4th and 3 inside the 15 and GT is gonna kick a FG? No way. You're down 4 scores. You gotta go for 7. Okay, they called a timeout. Surely they're going for it.
