I hate this, but I can 100% see it happening. 

I was in the Fields camp last year, hoped he fell to #8 and we took a f****** corner because ''we believe in Sam'' guaranteed him 18.8M BEFORE EVER PLAYING A SNAP. 

Now we'll get the Kenny's a 3 or 4 year starter bs, and he's ''athletic'' for the position. Blah, blah. 

My stance for this off-season was trade back from #6, swap with that team and secure a future first as a part of the trade, and some day 2 compensation this year. 

At this point, ride it out with Darnold, sign Cam, let them battle in camp, and use FA / the draft to solidify the roster. Then with our 1st, and the additional 1st from trading this year's #6 look to move up if needed to select a QB in 23'.

I think he is inferring trade down with Washington and still get a great Olineman and get Strong in the 2nd. Strong still has the physical traits where he could be something after a season or two in an NFL program. 1 quarter behind an awful offensive line doesn't make a player.

Trey Lance is a great athlete who sat for a year at SF, soaking up what an NFL QB needs to know.

Zach Wilson has a rocket arm and the charisma to lead an NFL team.  I don't know if that will happen in NY because they are such a dysfunctional franchise.  But Wilson is a player.  

I can't see Howell being anywhere near either of those two.

Yep. Doesn't matter what anyone else sees, Rhule sees what he wants to see and thinks everyone else is missing it.

Pickett will be the pick. He likes him... probably more accurately, the idea of him, and thats enough for him.

If we want to improve this offense both OL and playmakers, we should capitalize on this WR class as much as the OL. A trade down scenario netting us something like Linderbaum+Olave is where I’m starting to lean. 

The QBs just look like career backups and rather erratic. They’ve officially deflated any optimism. Corral still has some due to SB omission.

I think Sam has better arm talent than both. I believe Sam has a stronger arm than Wilson and every bit as accurate. I like Wilson’s ability to navigate in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield better. 
 

I think Sam will be more accurate than Lance. 
 

I also think Sam will be a threat in short yardage situations with his legs. He’s built similar to a fullback. My main concern is his feet and did the terrible talent around him last year teach him some bad habits with progressions.

      We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that

      There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.

      Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
