Are there any examples of owners who had a terrible start and then were able to turn things around...meaning make smart football decisions? You know what I mean here

I disagree. There a lot of us who have bought season tickets for Charlotte FC. Very excited to have a mls team in town.

I got to watch them play down here against the Charleston Battery.

The fan group that traveled was incredible. Wife and son were both raving that they wanted to go see a game in Charlotte because they made the experience so fun.

I just refuse to believe that Tepper is going to accept being a loser. I'm not going to fret about the rough start.

There is nothing about managing hedge funds that prepares you to be a NFL owner. He basically was as qualified as any of us. Owning 5% of the Steelers doesn't mean much more than box seats. 

 

Hopefully he has the capacity to learn and get better. But as of now, he is pretty pretty bad.

I can't imagine the hopelessness of following two Tepper pro sports ventures. It'd probably be less agonizing to just go outside and slam your dick in a car door.

I haven't seen anything to suggest that Tepper is anywhere near as involved with CLTFC as he is the Panthers. Seems like he just wound it up and is letting it run on his own. In my opinion it's pretty easy to view them as two distinct teams in two distinct leagues that just happen to have the same owner.

In the end, the NFL really doesn't care if an owner can competently build a winning team. They care about can the team continue to bring in money and not bankrupt itself in the process. Winning doesn't even figure in as organizations like the Lions have shown for decades and the Bengals until this year. They want butts in seats (whether in the stadium or at home on couches in front of the TV), they want jersey and other merch sales, they want the broadcast revenue to roll in and no stoppages in the seasons. 

It's just business.

So, honestly, if you end up with Tepper being terrible at this, there's nothing you can do short of somehow create a scandal. And as we are seeing with Snyder in Washington, a scandal won't even force a sale if the owner doesn't want to go.

weird. I honeslty dont care who the owner is. I go to sports events because I enjoy the atmosphere and the social scene around me. Ive been a fan of shittier run franchises, and to this day i seriously dont care. Ive been in Charlotte for a VERY long time, and watching the growth and expansion of this city has been awesome and something im grateful for. The good news is that a sports franchise isnt forced upon anyone. You can choose to like it or not like it. I choose to like it. 

I highly doubt im the only one with this mentality.

It can happen, but not if you aren't willing to 1) acknowledge that you can make a mistake, 2) realize you made a mistake 3) learn from that mistake and 4) rectify that mistake.

That goes for Tepper and Rhule. I think Tepper is more likely to be able to let experience teach him and guide him than Rhule.

You're not. For many, a sporting event is basically just a social event. The game is part of the background noise. Some fans care about winning and seeing effort made to actually win. Weird.

caring and bitching are two different things. Comparing a newly minted franchise coming to your home city to slamming a door on your dick, sounds like bitching to me. Not caring.

 

you are entitled to your choice of suffering, but dont attempt to bring others with you. Its what you do in grade school, not as an adult.

This is amazing

There was a school of thought from MLS that their teams needed reasonably sized soccer-specific stadiums in order to counter the perception of poor attendance when games were held in massive NFL stadiums but if CFC can keep selling tickets at this pace that won't be a problem!
