Excuse me...was charged, but was found not guilty.  The civil portion played out very differently if I remember correctly.

Watson got caught with his pants down...literally, but whether or not his accusers get their justice, who knows? I said earlier some of the women probably piled on for a payday.  How many?  Who knows, but not all of them.

Maybe all, maybe none, maybe somewhere in between.

We will never actually know.

Why wouldn’t we want our franchise player to have input on his coach? It’s not like he’s gonna pick some random dude off the street. It’ll be someone with credibility. Everybody needs to freakin relax.

Here is how I see it---Rhule should have been fired at the end of the season, but he was not.  Nor did the owner give him any assurances or votes of confidence--a bit odd, if you ask me.  If Tepper fired Rhule, the search for a new coach would have followed, and since his eye was still on Watson, he did not want to hire a coach that would cause Watson to play elsewhere--giving him the option to name a coach (within reason) in an effort to get him to waive a "no trade" position was smart.  So unless Watson picks Rhule, Rhule is likely gone--if we sign Watson.

As much as we collectively hate Matt Rhule now I expected 10 pages of people throwing a party at the wild, not really likely, chance that we will both acquire a new QB and have that QB facilitate the exit of our favorite effigy to burn.

For the record:  as much as I still *do not really want* Deshaun Watson I am firmly in camp "how bad could it really be?" if he gets what he wants and we end up with a new head coach.  Who's he likely to pick that will do worse?

    • While I really hope things pan out for the young man, sometimes you've got to make a calculated guess on your returns. I wanted so bad to see us use our first round pick on a LB, C or TE this season, but I think this one injury changes everything. I might suggest taking the best and the second best OTs available in the draft with our first and second round picks. The injury to Icky really makes the first one a good choice and an affordable one. And Moton, who is long in the tooth, needs someone in the wings behind him.  This also means that BC is going to need to get a contract for this upcoming season both as a starter at LT and to train the younger player behind him. Also it means that we need to extend a solid contract to Cade Mays and lock him down as our Center for the next four years. Maybe Icky can recover fully and be a starting LT again, but the odds aren't in his favor. Maybe he could be back in line to play as a guard right as our current starters' contracts wind down. It's not pretty having to spend all your picks and money on the line, but it seems to be the wise investment in light of everything.
    • Unfortunate situation.  if one of the top LTs fall in the draft I think it’s a no brainer draft pick. Then if icky returns he can move to guard and replace one of our highly paid guards that are here now.
    • I dont really expect anyone to have any character or values when the system doesn't. I would respect those who did though. College Football is losing what little interest I had in it. I wasn't against giving the athletes some control but whatever this system is will kill it over time.
