To me the real question is why is he worth more than Stafford or Wilson? Both those QB's now have a ring and have played at an elite level for years.

So what makes Watson worth more in trade value? I honestly can't wrap my head around that.

Age might be the only answer

All Watson's personal foibles aside, if we trade what has been touted for this one guy, it is going to be a huge huge mistake that will haunt this franchise for a long friggin time.

It is a huge gamble and it could indeed backfire.

I just don’t want to see the franchise lose Brown, Burns, Chinn for a guy who QBd a four win team recently.

Get on the Watson or Pickett train because they're hellbent, those are apparently our choices.

I wasn't down for this either but given the choice, I'd have to pull for Watson.

Jesus Christ, we're sitting here waiting for a decision about Deshaun Watson, and you come in talking about Gardner freaking Minshew?!?!fuck outta here the kid mero GIF by Desus & Mero

Not really--he is talking about Gardner Minshew and Burns, Chinn, three first rounders...I see the point.  I am on the Watson bus, but I too wonder.  Remember, a former Saints backup took us to the Super Bowl.

Why only focus on that? Stafford went from 3 wins in 2019 to 5 wins in 2020 and everyone jumping on his dick in 2021 wanting to trade for him.

Interesting to see the stark contrast in tone of the two Watson threads at the moment.

The price is too high. He’s a good player but you’re just giving the Texans a couple Super Bowls.

And, obviously, giving this franchise the death knell many expected from Tepper.

Exactly. He was basically putting up Kirk Cousins type numbers when the Texans we're actually competitive. His one elite stat season came when they went 4-12.

Lol dude get outta here with that, Watson is on another friggin planet than Cousins

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
    • They have all the rookies. The DC game has Ron though. With the new QB. It is weird.  pantherclaw, Bryce sort of is what he is, and in Madden he makes throws the real Bryce can’t make. Here and there. He ain’t ain’t a top QB in Madden though, lots of picks. aone of them lol was the throw that scares the hell out of me when he throws it, out to the boundary... quack quack.
