If I’m Fitterer I am 100% not letting Rhule have a say in this draft.

I think they did that to Fox before his final year.  That was the year we drafted Clausen, B. Lafell,  A. Edwards.  Yikes.

That was Marty Hurney free styling.

What a stupid post. Stafford and Wilson want to win now, which we weren't setup for last year and are not this year. Watson considered us until the last hour it seems and really wants to be in his hometown where he has a connection with ownership. Like......all of those decisions could have been made with or without Rhule.

Yep.  2010 was a pointless draft.  You weren’t drafting for the current coach and you weren’t drafting for the next coach (because he wasn’t hired and you didn’t know what he would want).

which is basically what Tepper created again.  2022 is 2010.

I haven't seen one high IQ move out of this owner. He's buying up real estate and soccer but he's the worst thing to happen to the Panthers in franchise history.

He's put the franchise and fanbase into a nosedive Jets style. He sucks. No neuron activity as far as real football is concerned.

Tepper isn't going anywhere...

...so what's your plan for the next 20 years?

We'll be better off in the end. Of those top 3 QBs, one is probably near the end of his career (and he wants a poo ton of control over the team/coaches/management), one is riding out the last couple of years of his career after being stuck in purgatory for more than a decade, and the other one may not ever play a meaningful down again if evidence suddenly turns up or he starts asking for happy endings again.

This season is going to be rough for us. The following year we will start really rebuilding.

Just breathe and hold on.

Here's one big thing...   Rhule is perceived by many, with good reason, to be a coach with one foot out the door.

He hasn't been winning. He hasn't exactly been successful building a winning team. He hasn't put together an offensive line that can protect a QB, not does he seem to know how to do it with his poor choices and constant shuffling around of pieces (and wanting pieces to shuffle around rather than let them play their one position). And his lack of experience in the pro league shows on several fronts.

He just isn't isn't that attractive an option for a franchise QB and coupled with the notion that he might get fired within a year...what's the point?

He's just not a good selling point.

If we are talking about last year, things were looking very very positive for Matt Rhule and the direction of the team. Things really started to sour after the matt Stafford whiff and what followed that.

Yes and in 2010 we had a decent offensive line and backfield. Even the defense wasn’t all that terrible. The basic core of the team back then was there. The Panthers were mostly missing the biggest piece which was quarterback.

No they were not, nothing has looked good since they cut Cam to sign Teddy to a 63m contract. We should have just sucked our way to a high enough pick to get a real QB.

Stafford is besides the point, what would our record be with him last year? 6-11, 7-10? We were not winning the super bowl like the rams. Stafford never did anything in Detroit, it would have been the same here.

We aren't set up to win because this is Rhule's team. It doesn't take long to build a winning team if you know what you're doing. It takes just a couple years and we aren't exactly trending upwards.

If a head coach doesn't have his team winning within two years, it's not going to happen.

It's not going to happen with Rhule. Even if he does miraculously eek out a winning season somehow next year, it won't be a trend. It will be an exception. He's not capable of building and coaching a consistent winner.

I’ve been on here a long time. Rhule is the first coach I remember OP being this vigorous about how terrible a coach he is. Must be some fire causing that smoke…

Even with Hurney the criticism was more “what a terrible drafter and capologist.” Not….”he’s systematically destroying our culture.”

Even before Matt Rhule, it was article after article that David Tepper didn't believe Cam was it and was likely not to extend him. This was a Tepper mistake, not a Rhule mistake.

That's just not true. But it is clear that you, and many fans in general, don't have the patience to see beyond 2 years.

No one said extend Cam, but dont sign fugging Teddy and damn sure dont trade for Darnold.

We had Grier on the roster, he could have QB'd us to #1-3 pick and we could have gotten a QB.

Tepper and Rhule were listening to Marty and his one guy away bullshit, it all started with Tepper firing Ron and keeping Marty.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
