Honestly, I think if we can get a stud lt in the draft, I'd be OK with this.  It would be awesome to see cam at his best again surrounded with a solid line and weapons.

I still feel like cam could dominate again if everything went right.

We need a viable backup in about any route we can take now.

Cam in a Taysom Hill roll, coming in on short yardage and redzone opportunities is still deadly.  Expecting Cam to start and play an every down roll is just asinine at this point.  As long as he understands his roll as the backup and short yardage back on the offense, and the money works there is no downside to this whatsoever.  Cam would be an excellent mentor to any young QB, and he just elevates the team and the teams chemistry.  If they expect him to start all year and act as a bridge QB kiss this season goodbye because he's not that guy anymore.

If we’re to draft a QB, go and get Willis and have Cam back him up/teach the ropes.

If they draft Willis Cam will be signed I bet. Willis gets a true redshirt year to develop and Darnold/Cam is 1st/2nd string. You sign a vet LT and compete with your franchise QB starting next year. That is what I would do anyway…..as make believe GM.
