Rhule: Sam Darnold will take a huge step this year

Fitt's reputation is on the line with Darnold, and now he is doubling down by stating that Sam will make a huge step forward. Ok fine. If Sam does as Fitt predicts, then we're all going to eat a huge plate of crow. And that will be the best tasting crow we've ever had because we'll likely have a winning season in 2022.

On the other hand, if Sam poops the bed again then I want Fitt and Rhule gone. Nothing is more important than finding a franchise QB, and if they can't do it then why have them here?

Sam pooping the bed is bad for Rhule and his servant Fitt, but it actually will be an amazing win for us in 2023. High draft picks in 2023 will be like diamonds and gold with the QBs in that draft. We could trade down for a king's ransom, or take a shot at drafting a potential franchise QB.

We're in a position now where we're likely to fail into prosperity. Sam is more likely to poop the bed, so the odds are we're getting a rookie 2023 QB. If Sam turns a corner and becomes our leader and franchise QB, then that's a win as well. We're in a win - win situation so long as we DO NOT TRADE OUR 2023 1ST ROUND PICK.

Would be absolutely hilarious if Sam goes 68%, 4300, 35 and 10 next year and leads us to the playoffs.

Spoiler alert: he won't

Kid is gun shy.  Not sure if that is from the pounding he has taken to date or just his nature.  But it doesnt matter because the kid wilts under pressure.  Thats not fixable

Better coaching, better play calling and a better oline, Darnold will likely be a better QB.  Of course there is no way to go but up. Not expecting great things though.

Once the ball is hiked he becomes very scared. He also has a bad habit of trying to play hero ball. Also he has one of the worst deep balls I have ever seen.
All the stuff you mentioned improving are great and all but once the ball is in his hands his scared mind takes over.
We saw it last year on some of the worst INTs and boneheaded plays I have seen in my 20+ years as a Panthers fan.
Maybe the O-line will help him. But I think his goose is cooked and I don’t think he can improve physically. He is done. But the coaching staff has docked with this sinking ship and are gonna go down with it.

I mean, he COULD.  Anything is possible.  However I do understand that anything approaching those numbers is highly, highly unlikely to happen.  If he somehow even put up 75% of that we would be in the playoffs next year.  All this team is missing is a LT and good, consistent QB play.

The likelihood of the Panthers taking a quarterback at No. 6 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft has increased considering they missed out on Deshaun Watson and haven’t dipped into free agency or the trade market for anyone else as yet. This could mean the organization is planning to select a signal-caller from the college ranks and going forward with Sam Darnold until the rookie is ready to assume command under center.

This would be a controversial move given how poorly Darnold played. But it could end up being the best solution for the Panthers right now as they have almost no chance of finding a willing trade partner for an underperforming player that also comes with a fully guaranteed $18.85 million.

For all the Panthers’ problems at the most important position on the field, the front office has done a nice job of filling in other needs during free agency. This bears special significance across the offensive line interior, with Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett representing a significant upgrade at two of the three slots.

Having stable protection is something Darnold has not been afforded throughout his career. Something that’s not exactly helped his poor processing and footwork since entering the league.

If this scenario comes to fruition and Darnold fails miserably behind an improved offensive line, then it might be the end of his professional career. However, it could also be the making of him, which would be the biggest turn up for the books imaginable.

I don’t think he really cares and if he gets fired he can go back to college. I can see that I don’t give a poo look all over his face. Rhule is not quitting and Tepper won’t fire him because he don’t want to be wrong. It’s a game with these two right now

I think you enjoy talking out your ass so much, you don't even realize you're doing it.
