I think Haynes has shown, in limited action, that hes ready for a bigger role.  If he can step in and fill some of the production gap left by Reddick, that would go a long way for this D.  Also, if Luvu can step in to a starting role and keep up his really good play from last year we might be in business.

The stat on Darnold is funny because they literally used quick 3 step drips for almost all of his throws so that he could get the ball out quick, and most of the time it was an extremely safe, short pass, or a dump off. All defenses knew we would do that and allowed us to dunk and dunk all game, knowing we couldn’t sustain drives or get close to scoring range.

I remember when PFF always thought Luke sucked early in his career which was completely ridiculous, then a switch randomly flipped like 3-4 years in and then he was all of sudden the best LB every year according to them. They're completely random and I put pretty much no stock into their grades.

But what does the eye test say?

The O fell apart when CMC went down and we replaced him with butterfingers Chubba.  We traded away a good TE in Arnold, and Robbie got the dropsies.  Add to that Elflein went down in game 2 and we started OL rotation madness.  Our starting OL were bad, the backups were horrific.

I'm glad Pat Meyer and Joe Brady our gone... WTF were they thinking.  I don't think Tremble or Thomas are as good a catch as Arnold.

If CMC goes down again for a third straight year, it is going to be a looong season.

No they didn’t

His grades were good even in his early years.

PFF's stats are informative, I have not doubt about that. The problem is they are only telling partial truths, yes Darnold might have been the 2nd best "passer" last season on 3 step drop backs. But what happened after those throws, what did they amount too, what other QBs were included in this stat and what does "passer grade" mean to them.

If you are clever enough, you can make numbers look however you would like them too

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
