What is the impetus for the “Keep Pounding” pushaway?

When I went to a game in November, it seemed like Tepper was trying to make a thing out of the Matt McConaughey / Wolf of Wall Street scene, but he should realize that is mainly funny to the hedge fund / wallstreetbets crowd

Matthew Mcconaughey Chest Thump GIF by Paramount Movies

It was so cringe. Everyone in the stadium just kinda sat there looking confused. I was laughing. 😂

David Tepper is a dickhead is why. Did you guys not see that stupid fuging Wolf of Wallstreet chest thump that he tried to get the stadium to do? What an absolute moronic thing to emulate. The movie was essentially about nothing more than greed, debauchery, and for some reason guys are drawn to it, trying to become the conman it's based on. Stupid.

Did he do that while on camera or are you telling me they played that clip randomly? Haha

I think that's really the crux of it.

It's not that we think Keep Pounding is some sweet/awesome catchphrase, it's just something that was, well, US.

It would be something if he hired people to bring in true savviness into our designs, marketing, outreach, et al (the whole organization), but everything that's new just reeks of this middle of the road generic crap.  For being a billionaire and wealthiest owner, his whole aura is very early 00s-Macys shopper.

And sure, it's his prerogative, his money, whatever, but it's not the way to go about it.  He really seems to have bad optics and very surface level decision making.

IMO he's trying to turn the football team into the soccer team. He's already changed the turf and the seating and the team entrance and the Panther's eyes at the wall at the end zones to accommodate soccer. Keep Pounding doesn't fit the soccer culture but the Wolf of Wall Street chest thump does.

Howww do you buy a team and fkup everything. Everything? Evarrayyythang! The coach, the players, the mantra and the fandom. We are headed for our 4th 5 win season under his leadership. Tepper doesn't give a sht about fans...I urge you to boycott his shtty product.  Lets cut out Keep Pounding but offer nothing else in its place...

So they are all Rhules? All that’s missing is the spit vest(bib) on that uni.

Tepper is going to be the one picking the new unis in the end. That is going to be something to see, his taste have been interesting. I'm expecting fuggly which just matches the brand and all lol

    • He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9.  If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management.  Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand.  He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC.
    • zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him.  I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc  I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious
    • Ran across this bit of fun. As seen on https://www.thesportinggent.com/blogs/dispatches/front-porch-musings-field-ethos-journal (a blog for outdoors gear and clothing)
