Here is the honest deal- Todd was brought in to replace Mel as ESPN lead draft guru......He failed. Mel was just better at TV stuff and Todd never even had Mel or his agents scared.

That happened back when "draft experts" were a rarity.

Now there are tons of them, and probably a good 90% or more are better at it than McShay.

You've got former GMs, scouts and personnel guys who have actually done the job now taking part in draft talk all over the internet and the airwaves. So with all that out there, what's the value of a guy with McShay's meager resume?

I miss seeing Floyd Reese on ESPN myself. He was great.

I honestly can not remember the last time I watched/dvr a ESPN show that was not a game......it had to be one of these draft specials tho, just after skip(ugh) changed the gimmicks and they had Mel vs Todd yelling at/talking over one another........thanks for allllllll THAT skip.....I nope'd out very shortly after.

I did record and watch a ESPN show early sunday mornings(name?) that had my guy Greg cosell reviewing tape.....only 30 minutes played while I started drinking the poison....miss the hell out of that. I missed Floyd Reese, is he still on? I would give him a try if so.

Sorry I can’t listen to the podcast right now, does he go on to say why Rhule doesn’t care? Does he go into detail on why he wouldn’t want his son to play for the Panthers?

No but he made it clear that he thinks the organization is a few years from competing. Which could be true but I also think if you magically gave us a top 12 QB,  we would in the playoffs next year.

Not really, but I think he was referring to the fact it's not a good place for a rookie QB to go if the coach is gone in a year or two anyway, then you get a new coach who maybe wants a different qb etc..It is the worst situation for a rookie QB currently.

The pod is in the second tweet. Quote came at the 32:50 mark.

This kind of implies to me that Rhule doesn't want to be here? Am I getting this right? He's just staying to fulfill the contract? Shoot, I'd help him pack.

What a cuntish thing to say.

And as a coach he has to just take responsibility and get better as coach if they part ways. Its not like he won’t get a coaching job after (in the college ranks)

He'll walk into a top College job if he leaves after this season.

    • You found out what I said months ago. Its sort of simple, if Panthers/you want a edge....*Panthers need a starting edge that gets hurries/sacs/press/etc* You almost have to use the 1st on edge. Just the way it is, of course some .01% Panthers get lucky and a 4th rounder shocks the world and becomes a day one starter.    I hate double talk, I also feel the Panthers need a top backup ala Addison or Al Wallace. Sooooo I do feel the need to add one in mid rounds if possible. I mean Pat Jones is on the MAYBE cut list, Panthers need space, he had a back injury and had little impact on field. So....... It goes back to adding talent, Panthers need talent, young talent.  OT- In my finding Im able to land a "stud" in round 2 more than 50% of the current rating. Even in the 3-5 rounds, (duke lad) Im able to get a OT within the top ava. I normally draft two OTs with one must play LT at some point. So I feel the draft is weak, but one of the strong point and it helps panthers is the OT spot. A few of those OT in mid, some will be starters this year.    I posted this else where, but here is the best outcome for the Panthers given the mock draft finding- 1st- Edge 2nd- LT/OT 3rd- ILB 4th- BPA/safety/center/WR/OT/etc 5th- OT/edge/C/DL/TE 5th- """" 6th- QB/Punter/safety/NB/OL The draft feels weak at 80% of the spots and teams Im sure are on this thought too. This past draft feels much better and deeper against the pool There is no Mike green or Nic scro in the late 2nd. There is no Evans sitting there in late 5th. There is not even a Prince level edge in the 3rd by my finding. I feel Panthers for sure new to draft 2 OTs and I high believe drafting 2 edges, one must be a 1st tho. Then the remaining 3 picks one late on QB, one on ILB, and the last one BPA. Honestly the FA looks bad too, the huge problem is the amount of needed for Panthers and there's not enough cap space or draft picks to fill even half the issue this season. Its goes back to just add the best talented players possible, *so long they do not play OG, strong safety, Dbrowns spot, and Tmacs spot. Add talent everywhere else, cause its lacking.......Even CB with horn struggling and Mike Jack on a one year deal, Thor coming off injury. There room for a mid or even 2nd rounder being(ewwww) use at CB. I prefer what I posted above. Happy drafting 45!!
    • Yes.  We actually had a coach we paid millions to who burned a 6th for a long snapper strictly for the lulz.
    • A complete and total cancer to the locker room
