Ickey is fine but again this is now a passing league, qb driven. Let’s hope he becomes as dominant in pass pro as he is in the run game.

He's a Sewell clone - they loved Sewell last year.

The OLine Coach will want to get his hands on him immediately 'cos he has a lot of technical flaws. He's probably a better athlete than Cross (who would have been my pick).

yeah people don’t wanna talk about this but cross was the pass pro technician and this is a passing league so if we had to go LT then I would’ve preferred the better pass pro prospect for the next decade. Icky is super talented and it doesn’t mean he can’t get better at pass pro but the panthers continue to build this team like it’s still the 80s.

I remember the last time we drafted a ‘pass pro technician’.

Ekwonu has made significant improvements starting all the way back in HS and his trajectory has been one line up not a line that consists of peaks and valley’s. You take that type of kid all day long because 1) he’s already elite in one area (run blocking), 2) you have one of the best OL coaches in the NFL.

Ickey also isn’t as bad of a pass protector as he’s made out to be.

Through the first 5 games of last year he didn’t give up a single sack. There’s obviously work to be done but his trajectory is only going up.

There’s a lot of guys doing YouTube things these days but when it comes to offensive linemen this guy has a history of knowing his poo. As soon as we drafted Ekwonu, I went and looked for this dudes take. Fwiw he was a big Slater fan last year.

Icky, BC/Brown, Bozeman, Corbett, Moton has a ton of potential!

And we have depth now as well--BC can backup both T spots while Elf can backup C/G.  Brown (a mystery to me right now) can backup G.  We can cut Erving--

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup. • This is why we need the Bank of America Stadium Ballroom.
    • That thread has all the huddle legends either posting in it or mentioned in it. I remember everyone of those folks and I truly miss seeing them post here. This place was so much better with them here.
