Yeah it was definitely an “oh poo” moment. He knew he shouldn’t had said that. It was a media speak blunder.

im pretty sure the panthers PR team has been telling this staff “don’t let the media create a circus around our QB situation” this whole off-season.

What’s even funnier is that Rhule followed up with expressing his disappointment that McAdoo named Darnold the starter last week because he should be the one to name the starter.

No he didn’t…. “Ben made a statement about the starting quarterback and that got retracted out of respect for me. I should state the starting QB”

zero disappointment and smiling the whole time.

It’s scary to think some of you guys are in the real world making inaccurate assumptions about people that you come across.

Fitterer was obviously disappointed he made that statement. And I haven’t seen Rhule be this professional interacting with the media since his introduction to the team.

Please… the smiling was him covering up his disappointment. He felt that McAdoo undermined him which he probably did. I personally wouldn’t put that out in the media though.

i doubt it was undermining ... Ben has always been horrible with media, worse than Rhule. I dont think the QB narrative is something being driven by Rhule but rather the Panthers PR. They dont want the unnecessary media attention.

If it was truly a mistake then they don’t need to put McAdoo in front of the camera. I can see why Rhule would be upset… I mean he’s the HC. I just wouldn’t have made the comment he did in the interview about the whole respect thing.

the expression Fitter had was like "..I can't believe I just said that, this guy isn't going to be good.."

What else could that have meant?

If he didn't have confidence in Corral, he'd have drafted someone else. There were other options, Sam Howell for one.

This theory is stupid.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
