What is this about? That sounds stupid.

Sounds about like BC's arm length issue.

TMJ made it to the NFL running how he runs.  It works.  Next thing we know they are going to talk about the fact Corral sometimes will revert to some Phillip Rivers style mechanics to get the ball out quick and they will get over focused on that.

Yeah, I get it.

I've posted this before, but in the second half of 2019, Darnold went 6-2 with 61% passing and just under 2000 yards.  His TD-to-Int ratio was 13-4.

That guy was pretty good.  If he shows up again, we might have a puncher's chance.

I don't believe he's a long-term solution, but I think he's better than what we saw in the second half of 2021.

There is no need to be delusional about this. The facts are there for anyone who seeks the information.

You do know most of the coaches that left were hired elsewhere? Not sure coaching will have the complete turnaround you believe

I am pretty sure most here would agree that the new coaches hired are significant upgrades over who was here previously and it isn't a debate.  Anyone who knows anything about football can see the obvious upgrades. We went from guys with little to no NFL experience to guys who were coordinators before and in the case of McAdoo  and Wilkes both were also head coaches. Campen is a proven commodity as a line coach and Tabor is considered one of the best special teams coordinator in the league. Even if we hadn't upgraded our personnel we would have been better this year based on coaching alone.

That is high praise from a guy that likely does not like the Panthers.

He actually likes the Panthers and his family has had season tickets in the 500s behind the west endzone for some time.  He quietly went to a ton of games with his grandson very lowkey in 553 in the 2000s and 2010s up until he became more of a fixture at ESPN and moved more permanently out of the area.

Wow. Just wow. …traded into the second to get this guy and they ‘reworking his gai’

This sounds stupid and I’m not sure I believe it but gait coaching is absolutely a thing and it’s becoming more and more popular at the youth level. It’s a huge deal in youth soccer for the real promising players.

Basically different ways of running make you more likely to tear something. Sammy Watkins can’t stay healthy because he runs on the outside of his feet. it makes him very agile but his ligaments just can’t handle it.

In this case though I think Rhule is lying to protect darnolds psyche or whatever. The real reason Marshall didn’t do anything is that the number three receiver and a rookie straight up wasn’t doing anything in this offense last year. I don’t care if it was Randy moss out there.

good points about trying to correct the gait and you're probably also right about this more trying to make darnold not look like the tunnel visioned goon he is. i know that tannehill got counseling, but darnold probably needs it more. i'm hoping that his next team will make it available.

What is the source for that btw?  Best I can find is a tweet from a podcaster.

I don’t if Marshall is going through it (and again I doubt that’s the reason) but gait coaching itself is very real and established. All the big camps/training universities are doing it. And all the top soccer kids get it around the world.

track and field has been doing it forever. Different gaits and foot strikes for sprinting v endurance etc

I was talking about the fact that the Panthers are helping Marshalls gait.  Is there a source for that?

I heard on a podcast suggesting we start Corral sooner rather than later.
If he does well we have our starting QB of the future. If he doesn’t then we do poorly, Rhule is fire and we draft high enough to get a QB.

Great plan. I'm all for it. Given that he's the person who decides starters and playing time, I wonder what Rhule thinks of this idea.

Zod always has some odd posts. Should change his user to Z'odd. Cuz my my first Impression is thatz'odd.

Anyway, Corral is not the most exciting player since Cam Newton. Not even close.

McCaffrey, Burns, Moore, Luke Kuechly?

I mean come on dude. Soon as those guys hit the field we knew what we had. Matt Corral is a big ole question mark, yeah there is some hope behind him. But he's 3rd round QB that we hope lives us up to first round talent. Let's not get carried away, hype up the fan base, preach to them that this season is the year of years. Like you do every season. Let's temper our expectations and observe. Let these rookies have an opportunity before you make everyone grab their pitchforks for Pete's sake. Give the kid a shot before you crown him the next king of the franchise.

    • I went to Canes games back in '04 & '05 when you were probably still a swimmer waiting to make your dad a father. There was no one there bc they sucked. Some of the lowest attendance in the NHL. As a Panthers fan coming off a SB season (03-04), I couldn't even believe they put a hockey team in Raleigh, and given the attendance, a lot of people speculated they would be relocated somewhere back up north where they would be supported and not "Mayberry." Seriously, educate youself.  That is reality. That being said, comparing that environment to 2024 Canes would be disingenuous. I was at PNC last year and know how great the current environment is. Comparing the current environment at BOA to 10 years ago is just as disingenuous.  Just bc you didn't witness how good BOA is when the Panthers are actually decent doesn't change reality. Seriously, surely you see that coming from such an elitist environment like the globally renowned world-class city of Raleigh, NC... I guarantee you if you went to a Canes game and a Panthers game in 2005, the difference would be unreal bc the Panthers were awesome and the Canes were (at the time) a moribund franchise. I have been in BOA when the whole stadium was rocking. You simply are young, don't know what you're talking about, but want to portray yourself as having knowledge about things you simply don't. You have a lot in common with modern day politicians and televangelists Like I said, Idiocracy has prevailed... Have a great day too!
    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
