Hard to over throw to that guy. Some things you can't teach.

That definitely is true and the guy is a pure hands catcher. He plucked the ball on most catches. North Dakota passed to Christian  Watson a bunch and Trey Lance ran a bunch last year. I'd like to see if it's more to his game. If not, it is an udfa signing....

It's been 4 plus years and the guy has shown very limited anything in the passing game. We drafted  Tommy  bc im sure they would like to see someone bc a complete tight end.  If Ian surprisingly ( yes surprisingly) does well, it's a win win.

I will not stand for this anti Ian Thomas rhetoric. He is the 24th highest paid TE in the NFL for a reason. #KeepPounding

Been hearing that for years. Will be hearing it for a few more it seems.

Mike Seidman, Jeff King, Michael Gaines - these are all three panther legends that hopefully Thomas will one day be compared to

Teams just did not seem to care about covering this guy lol I've never seen someone that wide open that many times.

But dudes like this are exactly why I'm always excited for preseason (at least until I inevitably get bored one half into the first game).  Is he likely to blow it up or even make the team?  Nah, but there are intriguing traits that you're excited to see potentially translate onto the field.

NDSU is Alabama-esque at their level. That happens a lot there.

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
