Elflein Daley and Erving are all still here a few plays away from starting last I checked. 17 games is a long season.

Yes, every team is a few plays away from playing their awful depth. Also, I don't think both Daley or Erving make the team if, in fact, either one do. I do think that Elf is a lock though.

Just said on nfl network that Corral is having surgery.  Rhule says it a major injury.

We collected too many f%cking QBs and that led to Matt out there running around with worthless o-linemen from our disastrous season and a fatass RG who was NOT in shape in any way after that being a known issue.

They will have to draft one anyway.   Sam won't be here and Corral will just be another rookie that has no playing time but may know the playbook, assuming the same staff is here.

If rhule is gone there's a real good chance the qb room will be overhauled as well. Corral will be the only qb on the roster under contract and he will have zero further development when the new staff roles in.

Fun times.

Corral's injury certainly makes that more likely, if not inevitable. A lot depends on Mayfield (both performance and new 2023 contract vs. our cap space).  If he doesn't work out or we can't afford him, we have little choice but to draft somebody and maybe start them.

The upside is that if we are in that situation because Mayfield does not work out, it is a chance for an almost complete purge of a QB room that could best be described as patchwork (and that would be a compliment given the Mayfield assumption attached to that).  You'd have to think that would be with a new coaching staff in place, but who knows?

He's our third string QB currently. He's going to play behind 3rd string oline the majority of the time. This argument doesn't make sense.

Well since we didn't play our 1st string offense at all minus Icky and Baker and Sam sat out.  Being 3rd QB would have put him with the best O-line if he had played the 1st two quarters.

Rhule has made it a point this preseason that Corral wasn't getting much Reps.  The least he could have done was give him a competent line and give him a running chance.

A side note, Corral lasted longer than PJ at the goal line.  Outside of Mays none of those players that were on the field will be in our 53.

Only delusional Panthers fans look at this OL depth and think we're looking good. Our starting center is already hobbled and it isn't September.

Is there a single team in the NFL that has great OL depth?

Every team is looking for lineman. The league doesn't have many great offensive lineman right now, it's in a big slump. Partially why the trend has been to draft mobile QB's who can improvise and launch downfield the last 5 years

It's amazing so few understand this....Realistically even teams with good offensive lines only roll 7 decent players deep... same for the dline....

    • It’s a fan message board. Fans are going to debate players. Especially the QB. I hope no one is genuinely upset about any of the dialogue on here.
    • Teddy Bridgewater was a check down QB….saying that doesn’t mean that he literally can’t and won’t throw downfield in a season.  Bryce Young was never drafted to be big armed downfield passer.  I don’t get those out defending him when it’s pointed out that he just  isn’t that.   And finding a game or two where he goes downfield doesn’t change much.  Because all QBs eventually go downfield.  Just like a Delhomme or Favre will play it safe in some random games.  Doesn’t mean they aren’t gunslingers that got gambling in their DNA.
    • Yeah, Fitzgerald was smart to sign with the panthers--not sure how many NFL teams were in the Market....I was surprised to see Morgan re-sign Tuttle and Ray--even if Ray's contract is completely unguaranteed--but with Brown, Wharton, Brown III, Robinson, Cam Jackson--maybe Crumedy--Tuttle could be excellent depth--but at DE, not DT, imo.  Once again, it appears that Morgan may have found UDFAs who have a shot making the team--last year, there were 2 who contributed in a meaningful way.  This year, I see CBs Thornton and Reid with a legitimate shot to make the roster.  I also think LB Nomura has a legit shot (Morgan has to love this guy) as well as LB Bam Martin Smith from USC.  Finally, I think one of the safeties will stick. In all, I expect 1-2 CBs, 1 LB, 1 S, 1 OL, 1 K to make this team. Predictions:   CBs Thornton and Reid make the 53-man roster.  LB Tuasivi Nomura makes the 53-man roster as a ST ace and ILB depth OL Michael Tarquin may make the roster to groom as a potential RT replacement for Moton.  Moton, BC, and Nijman are on expiring contracts.  While I like what I am hearing about Kandra, the OG room is very crowded.  Lewis, Hunt, Zavala, Kingston--but he could compete for the 4th G job. S:  Trevian Thomas, Isaac Gifford are probably the front runners, but Jack Henderson from Minnesota might be able to win a S spot as well.  I expect all three will not make the 53, but the darkhorse name to watch is Henderson. Henderson's Pro day: Minnesota DB Jack Henderson had arguably the BEST overall workout of any Safety in this entire draft: 40yd. 4.47 vertical. 40” Broad. 10’8” Shuttle. 4.15 3cone. 6.70 Bench. 12
