This team doesn’t have much depth. One or two injuries to key offensive players and/or defensive players and this team goes from looking like a playoff team to not. There just isn’t much room for error for this team.
Hope we can find a kicker ASAP.

Our linebackers, dline and oline are horrifically thin.  We are going to be threading the needle with injuries all year.

The zane injury really fugs us up quite honestly

For the DL/OL, the starting groups are relatively underwhelming, as well.

I think we are in for more struggles in the trenches this coming season.

It's a shame because our skill position groups look fantastic.

OL/DL has to be a major focus for the 2023 offseason. Hopefully we get a coaching staff that realizes the value of investing in the trenches.

Wonder what Ryan Santoso is up to these days. He seemed solid for the short time he was here. Wouldn't mind him until Zane is back (if he even comes back).

Now wait for the "who's more fragile,CMC or Zane"? poll to be posted.

This is the part that people seem to forget about us. 2016 team was way better than this team. It was a sucky year but we were Gano’s worst season and so many OL injuries/position swaps away from the playoffs. Imagine Gonzalez being out for the year with the replacement missing 3 GW FGs and being down Moton, Elflein, Bozeman, Corbett playing T for a few games and having to move Iky to RT in week 3. Add in Shaq being out for 7 games and Horn for 4 games. Also, not coincidentally, it was Cam’s worst year before the shoulder was completely shot. All that and that team still finished with 1 more win than any of the past 3 years.

We are crazy thin, especially with all the draft picks given up and TMJ not contributing.

What does TMJ have to do with us being thin? We're not thin at WR. You said it yourself, he's not contributing. It doesn't sound like Rhule misses him either.

I think the idea is that the pick was wasted, since it could have gone to lineman of better quality than the low-rounders we dredged for and TMJ is 'always' hurt.

Not saying I agree, just how I read it.

This is what happens when you trade a bunch of picks for QBs who suck / won’t play. Sacrificing depth for wishes at the QB position

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
