Unfortunately, we probably won't know how it really went down until well after both Rhule and Fit are gone, and maybe not even then.

I did see/hear Finesserererer on camera say he " Really like Sams evaluation coming out of college"...... Of course after the fact. I also member when the panthers were searching for QBs and stafford was in bunch, Rhule said his BFF snow compared Darnold to Stafford....I believe this is word for word quote - "He reminds of us of a young Stafford when looking at this tape..".

It feels like the Sam Darnold was a rush/panic price to get him into thee "great panther system" early......And it seems they learned form this about dealing with Baker.......*BUT* it looks like Baker did need OTAs and mini-camp too.....

Baker literally looks worse or just as bad  than Darnold with a top oline vs. historically putrid. Not saying Darnold doesn’t suck but is it not obvious they are both trash by now?

Yet another Rhule QB project down the shitter.

Rhule has to develop a rookie QB there is no way around it. Just the simple fact he clearly doesn’t understand that is grounds for being fired imo.

What does a Rhule developed QB look like? PJ Walker?

Damn Baker for actually making me question whether I want to see what Darnold could do behind this o-line.

Unreal but me too....I even thought to myself - "Bloody hell, Broken-down Cam could have done this the last 3 games, maybe even some improvements".

sam *maybe a better fit for whatever Ben system needs.....He has had more time and I know it was against air, but he did look legit in OTAs&mini-camp.

If Baker doesnt improve, Id say week 6 there needs to be a coaching only meeting with the focus of whos starts that week.

Lastly this guy has gone on long enough without any hate -

Time for a new QB coach if the results keep pointing downwards...

Instead of assuming the line is bad for whatever reason, it’s been easy to see during our first three games that Baker is the issue with the sacks and pressure most of the time. Not getting rid of the ball timely, rolling out right when there’s literally no reason to.  Not to mention CMC has been looking pretty solid in the run game.  Our offensive line has been one of the bright spots, no doubt.

Who in history has stood up to Jay-z, my old ass has forgotten about his beefs(was one of them NAS?). I member when Rkelly quit Jays tour and that was funny.

What about Dame Dash?? It was a messy breakup, but I can not say the real reasons.....

Plus having a beef with young Jay was a totally different deal once he became JAY-Z.

If you remove Robbie's 75 yd TD and Laviska's 67 from this past weekend then Baker would be averaging 136 pass YPG. I think we can all see him for what he is. Even with those 2 ballooned plays the team is only at 161 pypg. Good for 31st in the league.

CMC is averaging 81 yds on the ground. The OL is playing very well. There are no more excuses for Baker.

During fanfest Sam was the only one moving the ball consistently. Sam made it hard for Rhule to play Baker until his injury.

Folks need to come to the realization than Rhule doesn't know what he's doing and Sam Darnold is actually a better QB than Baker Mayfield.

Just look at what it cost us to get Sam vs Baker. The Baker fans don't want to believe it but put Sam back in, this is a much better offense, INTS be damned.

On my third watch thru on NFL+, focusing on o-line play. I don't really know what ESPN is looking at, unless they're grading run blocking only (which I know they're not), focusing on individual assignments, and ignoring unit play.

Pass protection on obvious passing plays is not really good, or consistent. Blitz pick-ups are poor. Free rushers on 3rd downs. There are also some nice clean pockets too, and on those we don't see the QB bailing early, Mayfield steps up into the pocket on many.

Mayfield stayed in the pocket much better in the third game than I gave him credit for while watching live or on earlier viewings. I am watching for happy feet.

Coverage likely contributed to some sacks, but on at least 2 of the sacks the pocket collapses on strong and weak sides.

Run blocking is solid, especially on non-obvious rushing downs. McCaffrey is blown up on several plays at or behind the line, where his shiftiness turns it into something.

(On a totally unrelated note: Brown's interception is amazing athleticism for so big a body).

    • I went to Canes games back in '04 & '05 when you were probably still a swimmer waiting to make your dad a father. There was no one there bc they sucked. Some of the lowest attendance in the NHL. As a Panthers fan coming off a SB season (03-04), I couldn't even believe they put a hockey team in Raleigh, and given the attendance, a lot of people speculated they would be relocated somewhere back up north where they would be supported and not "Mayberry." Seriously, educate youself.  That is reality. That being said, comparing that environment to 2024 Canes would be disingenuous. I was at PNC last year and know how great the current environment is. Comparing the current environment at BOA to 10 years ago is just as disingenuous.  Just bc you didn't witness how good BOA is when the Panthers are actually decent doesn't change reality. Seriously, surely you see that coming from such an elitist environment like the globally renowned world-class city of Raleigh, NC... I guarantee you if you went to a Canes game and a Panthers game in 2005, the difference would be unreal bc the Panthers were awesome and the Canes were (at the time) a moribund franchise. I have been in BOA when the whole stadium was rocking. You simply are young, don't know what you're talking about, but want to portray yourself as having knowledge about things you simply don't. You have a lot in common with modern day politicians and televangelists Like I said, Idiocracy has prevailed... Have a great day too!
    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
