Run blocking looks impressive but for pass blocking we don't have anyone in the top 10 for OT or OG Elflein is 7th for Centers. So still average at best in that department and though Baker needs to stop playing like crap we also need to do a better job of protecting him.

Offensive line getting stronger

  • Carolina's offensive line has had all five starters play every snap through Week 3.
  • Guard Austin Corbett ranks fifth among qualified guards with a pass blocking grade of 80.3, while center Pat Elflein ranks sixth among qualified centers with a pass blocking grade of 74.4 (via PFF).

Baker literally looks worse or just as bad  than Darnold with a top oline vs. historically putrid. Not saying Darnold doesn’t suck but is it not obvious they are both trash by now?

Yet another Rhule QB project down the shitter.

Rhule has to develop a rookie QB there is no way around it. Just the simple fact he clearly doesn’t understand that is grounds for being fired imo.

We always say we are a few pieces away with Rhule and it’s always the same result. Decent defense (who wears down at the end of the year from being on the field too much/ offenses adjusting, bad offense performance, 5 wins, wash, rinse, repeat, Rhule collects  collect check and says we are close.

And Rhule and Fitterer et. al. HAVE done a very good job fixing our previously abhorrent defense and offensive line.  We've gone from the defense overall (since Luke left) and the o-line being the worst parts of the team, to being strengths over a couple years.  Now we all need Baker and the rest of the offensive to at least put up middle of the pack passing stats, and we could be a formidable team again.

I only saw the graphic highlighting the pass block win rate. Good to hear about Corbett. I would like to see where Christensen ranks too. Baker definitely needs to step it up Sam had it worse last year.

top10 Oline and #32 Ranked QB

Buut Buut he so much better than Sam.

The Huddle really has no clue what they are talking about when it comes to the QB position.

And obviously you don't either, considering you come on here day after day simping for fuging Sam Darnold of all people.  Jesus...

Also side note about PFF and why we love them one day or week and hate them the next Elflein was one of our lowest graded players against the Saints just good to take most of this with a grain of salt.

If Baker keeps performing like this a few games down the line, it isn’t silly to consider moving to Darnold.

Darnold with a decent line might be the 25th best QB instead of the 32nd.

And I know he is “worse with time to throw” but I do think having no time in his career broke him.

Baker (and I think McAdoo even more so) is unbearable to watch right now.

McAdoo not knowing how to scheme the weapons we have is brutal to watch.

Man this offense is sad.

    • I think those silver helmets look great. The logo is fairly primitive looking but I understand why it is used.  The dayglo type blue top/bottom, I think looks like a cartoon. IOW not good. White on white is a classic look, no issue. Black on black I can take but prefer black pants with a blue top. Or white pants with the blue top.  That is about as much fashion content as I am comfortable posting. Maybe go to E or Bravo for this stuff.
    • Remember when the NFC South was the toughest division (circa 2002-2006 when every NFC Championship game featured one of the four of us?)
    • You are a fair point argument guy, but I disagree that Bryce got us out of that Miami hole. You know who Rico Dowdle is, right?  Just a small quibble.    IMO when I look at him and see his output in a typical game I imagine what he did that a replacement level guy wouldn’t or couldn’t have done.  And I have trouble seeing much difference.  So assuming they can’t replace him with someone’s backup, not everybody’s but there are guys sitting, assuming they can’t replace him for probably less money would potentially be an erroneous assumption.    But based more on his relationship with the team and the guys making the decisions, the question of will they? I tend to see them sticking with him.  I never wanted him at all. But after all the misery of the Bryce era so far, I don’t have a problem with waiting until the season is complete to decide. Bring it on, I can take it.  So I am not ranting that he needs to go, although I have certainly done that and can’t say he has changed my mind to this point.  He still could.  We’ll see.
