As a non fantasy football player, what's a "handcuff"?

The back-up to the star player you have

So Alexander Mattison for example has been Cook's back-up for what feels like an eternity (at least if you are a fantasy player), which is why every serious fantasy player knows about him. Cook is always hurt, so if you are a Cook owner, it helps to have Mattison on your bench so that when Cook gets hurt, you don't have to scramble for a starting RB.  Aka your "handcuff"

This is all on Fhule and McAdoodoo. Hint- stop pounding CMC, you signed D Foreman for that, you idiots.

Why does this staff insist on running CMC into a stacked box in short yardage time and time again?

This poo will not get better under this amateur coaching staff.

too bad chubba sucks.

I grabbed Foreman last season as Henry's handcuff and held onto him since Chubba sucks.

After 5 runs of dancing around and falling over to gain 3 yards, my money is Foreman will come in to spell the ineptitude, plus he has goal line value that chubba doesn't.

    • I mean, I think you're being a little hyperbolic with the last statement, but point taken.
    • Pass rush was the biggest issue in tonight’s game, and we were tied for 28th in sacks this season. That is a major area of need that has to get addressed this offseason. I just don’t see a path where there’s a game changing QB you can bring in with where we are drafting and quality of veterans that will be available. We certainly can do better than Dalton as a backup, and should ideally have a developmental guy  (perhaps a day 3 pick this year). We have bryce for one more year on a reasonable contract and then I think 2027 is the year that you reset that position (unless he massively improves).
    • Agreed, honestly basically bringing this group back as a healthy unit would be alright.  Brady Christensen should be resigned to a very reasonable deal with him recovering from the Achilles.  Atleast we're alright at 4 of our 5 spots with Lewis, Mays, Hunt, and Moton, Nijman was decent.  While if we can snag a deal on someone, take a stab, however our resources need to go to Linebacker, Pass Rush and a real option outside Tmac (coker is amazing, but if we can get someone who isnt braindead opposite Tmac, we can fully unleash Coker AND Tmacs full potential, cant move him into the slot if racoon boy is out there licking doorknobs).
