Well, I was wrong

Well, I left that boat.

Yesterday, since this was a national game [embarrassment], one of my family members in another state was watching the game and would send me an excited text when something good happened for the Panthers.  I could not feel the excitement or even feel positive.   Expected that the Panthers would screw things up.  This seems to be a new low.

Same here, people that know me from back in the day will try to reconnect with texts and I don't even respond. I eventually tell them I'm off that narcotic.

When ladypanther starts using the ugly words, you know things have gotten really really REALLY bad!

😱

Thought the same thing.  Now I know I'm not overreacting when the team has pushed ladypanther into apathy.

It was over as soon as rhule was retained last year.

For me it was over when Marty Hurney hired Matt Rhule.  That's the moment I lost hope all together.  Thought my overall view could be over stated a bit the first season so I held out a faint glimmer.

Then the Sam Darnold trade and extension happens.  I was out then and there. Bringing in Baker did not change that one iota.

So I'm not surprised we find ourselves here. I'm a little shocked it is this embarrassing however.

I have to agree. I was at the game and when Arizona scored late to go to 20 points I told my wife that it was over once the other team scores more than 17 points. I remember feeling that way with Clausen but never expected Baker was going to play so poorly. Not only can't I sell my tickets if I wanted to, I have friends who don't want to go for free.  Now that is a sad commentary.

I actually thought McAdoo would be a positive. He was not a good HC but as a coordinator he was good for Manning and that gave me encouragement.  I thought a couple of real NFL coaches on staff  might help Rhule be better.  I thought Mayfield would be a lot better than he is.  Did not think he would be  all pro but would be better than Darnold.  The batted balls, his inaccuracy....did not expect that.

I do tend to be an optimist.  Thought that this  team, because of the talent that we have, might be a wild card team instead of in competition for the worst team in the NFL.

This season is lost, miserable.  We wait so long for this and as fans deserve better.    Tepper has been a disaster as an owner.  Our only hope is that by some miracle he can admit that he does not know what he is doing and puts some real football people in charge.  Doubt his ego will ever allow that.  The NFL screwed us by falling in love with Tepper's money.  He was not who I wanted as an owner, but when we got him, again...was hoping for the best.  Did not expect that we would end up with the worst.

I have been a Panther fan from the beginning.  I went to home games for years.  A job loss due to the pandemic interrupted that.  Glad I am not now spending big money now on this sh#t show.  At this point, I refuse to even buy a t-shirt until things improve.  I know, like spitting into the ocean but it is my own little personal protest.

Well done LP. I’ve always admired your optimism concerning the Panthers. You’ve never been a “shoot from the hip fan”. And yes, we deserve better. We as Panther fans do not demand anything more than a team we can relate to, cheer for and be proud of.

Tepper hopefully understands a sinking ship. This team isn't getting better it's getting worse.

Hopefully this is the year that Tepper finally gets the message and poo-cans Rhule.  Also, by some stroke of good luck, this happens to be a REALLY good year to be a really shitty team in need of a new franchise QB.  So, we may just back our way into really helping the team move in the right direction.  We get a top 2 or 3 pick, get Stroud/Young/Levis/whatever, then we get a new, offensive minded coach, and begin to heal all our old wounds.

Teams that fire their coaches/coordinators midseason do sometimes seem to get a boost - play better football. Honestly, with the core of Panthers players, if the players just coached themselves, I'd wonder if it'd be an improvement over what we've seen.

Removing bad coaching from an equation can give a lift, turn the season around.
