Opinions: if Wilks does a good job...

If he binds this team together and wins 5 or 6 more games, should he be retained as HC.

Sure that would kill the 'tank' crowd, but is he somehow gets P.J to be the guy this year and team responds positively, what should they do?

Opinions please...

We should do a complete Head Coach search. If he does well, I think he should be in the running. But I wouldn't hand him the job outright considering there appear to be several interested candidates.

I hope he does well, but I don't want us to make the mistakes of last time. Let's go through the process and hire the best person for the job.

You judge him just like any other head coach in my opinion.

He’s 1-1 with 10 games left, if he can finish with a 12 game record of 7-5 (six more wins) or above then I think you have to seriously consider giving him the job. I think going 7-5 with another coaches roster and staff would certainly qualify you for the job.

And hell, 8-9 might win this division.

Almost 20 teams are either 2-5 or 3-4. Put the tank talk on hold. If we win next week and the Bucs lose to the Ravens we're 1st in the division whether people like it or not

But.... but..... muh draft picks.....

Tank talk should be OFF-LIMITS until the maths states- "NO PLAYOFFS."

If we win a playoff game? Sure, give him a consideration. Six or seven more wins? Nah, for that I’d rather get an offensive minded HC, higher potential. Six or seven more wins with this team would be an accomplishment no doubt, but not impressive enough to make me believe he could turn the team into a consistent winner. Worst thing that could happen is we get a franchise QB in the draft and hire a Rivera-like HC that handicaps the potential of the team.

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
