One last stab at it. A few people have said the equivalent of “I don’t care about the gm system, we are fans and that’s the point of view that matters.”

 

Let’s say we end up with round 2, pick 15. A team really wants that pick, and will only trade future picks. Would you be fine with a 2024 2nd round pick? We don’t lose a 2nd round pick. Maybe the 2024 is better than 15th in the round. We are just kicking it back a year. Maybe the 2024 class is better… 
 

Or would you absolutely rage?

Future 1st are different than trading 2-7, cause there is no "0" group for future 3rd is worth a now 4th formula..... You have bring out the magic 8-ball and guess what type of record the team will have in the future......impossible but still try.

Now talks of Mcvay and 99 retiring were real and that team is old, plus QB is beat-up and a "old" 33.....If those 3 blow up after this or next yr.....one of those picks could be top five-ish...Panthers are in dead cap hell next year along with a new HC&staff(high likely).

If you already know burns wants 30+, thats one heavy stone brother. He still can be moved in the off-season, just the rams wanted him for this years run...(could help the CMC haul)

 

If the new HC has a pure 4-3 system, burns could be in trade talks again.

That isn't what the board said about trading him for future firsts. Those folks wanted to do the deal.  That is what the folks who didn't want to trade him like myself said given future picks are devalued and not worth the same as a 2023 1st. Once again you are the one who seems rather confused.

It's a real bummer that Fitt actually rejected the deal as it guarantees that we are going to tie up a huge part of the cap onto one player who isn't at all an Elite pass rusher.   smh.

Only the Panthers, man.    Only the Panthers.

      Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!

      Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.

      OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
