People have asked before, and I've answered, but I'll repeat: To my knowledge, no interim head coach has ever been fired midseason.

I'm starting to wonder if Wilks might not be trying to become the first 😕

Nope, he’s in full tank mode. He only cares about the defense not getting demolished

I'm fine with this for some sadistic reason.

Yeah I’m past the point of caring about wins and losses until this year’s over.  My friend bet me $75 at halftime yesterday that the Panthers wouldn’t score 21 points, so that last TD’s the most I’ve cheered for a TD in a hot minute

The guy who attached his name to a lawsuit about being told to tank is not going to be on board with tanking.

Little bit of a conspiracy theory here, but with him being from Charlotte, I almost wonder if he agreed to man this sinking ship on the condition to get retained as DC or something.

He is on the lawsuit, says they aren’t tanking, but all of his actions seem to be otherwise.

    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
    • I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division.
